Origin Story: The company was founded by Haley Pavone while she was a student at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO). Inspiration struck during a night out: After she had removed her heels because they were hurting, another woman's stiletto impaled her foot. That incident made Pavone question why women often have to choose between fashion (heels) and comfort (flats). Motivated by that moment, she set out to create a shoe that could convert from heel to flat — thus combining style and comfort.
