Pink Saheli Smart Card

Pink Saheli Smart Card: The Delhi government will set up around 50 centres across the city to help issue "Pink Saheli" cards. The card, launched on Monday, aims to provide women and transgender people with free bus travel and easy access to various public transport systems through a single smart card.

What is Pink Saheli Smart Card?

According to an official statement, around 50 centres will be set up to issue the cards at the offices of the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, as well as at some Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) locations. Each pink card will be linked to the beneficiary's mobile number and Aadhaar to verify age, gender, and residence in Delhi.

President Draupadi Murmu launched the Pink National Common Mobility Card and three other women-centric welfare schemes of the Delhi government at a function here.

How will the Pink Saheli Smart Card Scheme work?

Under this scheme, the Pink Card will enable eligible women residents of Delhi to travel free on DTC buses and can also be used for paid travel on other public transport services, including the Delhi Metro and the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), enabling passengers to use a single card across all systems.

  • Under this scheme, women aged 12 years and above in Delhi are provided free, unlimited travel in DTC and cluster buses.
  • The Pink Smart Card will function as a digital identity card.
  • It will display the applicant's name, photo, QR code, and other basic information. Passengers can simply tap the card to take their seat.
  • After a top-up, the card can also be used for travel on the Delhi Metro.

The Pink Card will replace the existing paper-based Pink Ticket, providing touch-free travel, digital journey records, and improved transparency in revenue accounting, making public transport more accessible, technology-driven, and safe, while also reducing the daily commuting costs for women.

Types of Pink Saheli Smart Card

Three types of mobility cards will be issued under the programme:

  • Pink for eligible women residents
  • Blue for general commuters and orange for monthly-pass users.
  • Pink and blue cards will be issued in the first phase, while orange cards will be introduced later.

According to an official statement, the DTC has authorised Hindon Mercantile Limited (MufinPay) and Airtel Payments Bank Limited to issue the cards. The card will also be integrated with the existing automated fare collection system across the national capital's public transport network.

The Pink Card will be issued free of charge at government expense. There is also a dedicated Pink Saheli Card online portal with a guide manual in Hindi for women.
