Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi drew attention on social media after responding with humour to a post by financial advisor Muthukrishnan Dhandapani, who claimed he had been managing the Congress leader’s mutual fund investments since 2013 despite being a strong supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a detailed post on X, Dhandapani said he wanted to show that “perception is different from reality" and added that Rahul Gandhi and his office had always maintained a clear distinction between professional work and political beliefs.

He said the Congress leader had consistently treated him with respect over the past 14 years and had never objected to his public support for the BJP.

Dhandapani also claimed that Rahul Gandhi had even sought his professional advice while choosing a key professional a few years ago. “I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with," he wrote.

Responding to the post, Rahul Gandhi replied on X, “Muthu ji, your political views are your own – but please do speed up the returns on my investments."The exchange quickly gained traction online, with several users reacting to the lighter side of the political interaction.
