Ragi procurement under MSP to end on May 15

The procurement of ragi from farmers under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme for the 2025-26 season will conclude in Mysuru district on May 15, following directions from the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation.

Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy said in a statement that the State government had directed officials to complete the procurement process as arrangements need to be made for distribution of ragi under the NFSA scheme during May and June.

Accordingly, the procurement operations at all ragi purchase centres opened in the district under the MSP scheme will be closed on May 15.

Farmers who have registered to sell ragi to the government under the support price scheme have been advised to contact procurement officers in their respective taluks and deliver their produce to the designated procurement centres before the deadline, the statement added.
