Ram Charan and his wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, are on cloud nine after being blessed with twins - a baby boy and a baby girl on January 31. Continuing their celebration, the couple recently hosted an intimate gathering to introduce their newborns and also held the naamkaran ceremony with their close family and friends.
In a chat with Variety India, Ram Charan said that the names of his children are very personal and spiritual. “Our son’s name, Shivram, combines the qualities of Lord Shiva and Lord Ram's strength with restraint, devotion, and righteousness. It also honours my father’s birth name, Shiv Shankar Vara Prasad, so it carries family lineage and gratitude,” he explained.
Talking about his daughter, he said, “Our daughter’s name, Anveera Devi, stands for courage and divine feminine strength. ‘Veera’ means bravery, and ‘An’ makes it limitless. ‘Devi’ is a reminder that strength and grace can go together. These names aren’t just labels, they’re hopes for strength, love, and courage for our kids.”
He also spoke about how emotional and special the naming process was. “Choosing their names was very personal and spiritual for both of us. Upasana and I talked about it a lot, but our parents were also involved. In our culture, elders bring wisdom and blessings, so having them part of this process meant a lot to us,” he said.
Blessed with twins
After the birth of their twins, Ram Charan and Upasana made an official announcement sharing their happiness and gratitude. In their note, they said, “Having two daughters and a son makes us feel incredibly grateful. The women in our lives have always been our biggest strength. We’re very thankful to our fans, family, and well-wishers for supporting us through every moment.”
The couple’s first child, daughter Klin Kaara Konidela, was born in June 2023.
Ram Charan’s upcoming projects
On the work front, Ram Charan is currently gearing up for the sports action drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, which is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 27, 2026. The film, featuring Janhvi Kapoor, is a high-stakes project currently in production. He is also gearing up for a collaboration with director Sukumar, known as RC 17.
