Russia’s revenues from crude oil and refined product exports rose in January as higher prices offset a decline in export volumes, the International Energy Agency said on Thursday.
The Paris-based IEA said exports revenues increased by $130 million in January from December to $11.1 billion, but remained lower by $4.6 billion year on year.
It also said the crude and fuel exports from Russia decreased by 90,000 barrels per day last month from December to 7.5 million barrels per day.
Russia has been challenged by the international sanctions over Ukraine, notably by Washington’s efforts to impede Moscow’s oil sales to India, its second-largest crude importer after China.
The IEA said Russian crude production declined last month by 350,000 bpd to 9.3 million bpd.
That compares to OPEC estimates of 9.246 million bpd for January.
