Bullion gold at $4,100, silver at $60: Rate fears and Red Sea tensions cloud outlook: Renisha Chainani, head of research at Augmont
Price Movement – Gold is trading near $4100 and Silver around $60, with both metals losing some shine as the 2-year US Treasury yield, which reacts quickly to interest rate expectations, has climbed to its highest level in 17 months. The reason: oil prices are rising again, and that’s reviving fears of inflation creeping back in. Higher inflation usually means the Fed is more likely to raise rates, and right now, traders on the CME FedWatch tool are pricing in a 77% probability of a rate hike in September.
Geopolitical Tensions – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington is open to negotiating an end to the standoff, but added that Tehran isn’t showing real intent to talk. Meanwhile, three oil tankers carrying Saudi crude bound for China and India turned back in the Red Sea on Tuesday after coming under threat from Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who are backed by Iran. That single event was enough to push oil prices higher, adding fresh fuel to inflation worries.
Macro-Economic Signals – Gold now finds itself caught between multiple central bank decisions. The European Central Bank meets this week, followed by the Federal Reserve, Bank of Japan, and Bank of England next week. The ECB is widely expected to leave rates unchanged on Thursday, but it’s likely to keep signaling that another hike could still come in September. That kind of “on hold, but not done” stance tends to keep markets on edge — and gold prices vulnerable to swings.
Technical Triggers
If Gold falls below $4,000 (₹1,41,000), it could slide further to $3,900 (₹1,38,000). But if it manages to stay above $4,200, a fresh rally could take it toward $4,500 (~₹1,55,000).
For Silver, a strong move above $63 (₹2,35,000) could push prices toward $70–71 (₹2,51,000–2,55,000). On the other hand, a fall below $55 (₹2,14,000) may drag it down to $50 (₹2,00,000).

Fibe launches Credit AI Radar to help users understand and improve credit health
Fibe Launches Credit AI Radar (CAIR), A Credit Intelligence Tool to Help Consumers Understand and Improve Their Credit Health
Users can ask credit-related questions and receive personalised guidance for smarter credit decisions
As part of its continued commitment to promoting responsible borrowing and informed financial decision-making, Fibe, a digital lending platform, today announced the launch of Credit AI Radar (CAIR). The AI-powered credit intelligence and management platform aims to go beyond the traditional credit score to help users better understand, manage and improve their credit health, and is available on our website.
This marks another step in Fibe’s journey to make credit more transparent and accessible for everyday Indians. Formal credit adoption is widening in India. Digital-first lenders’ consumer reach grew from approximately 14.4 million in December 2022 to approximately 23.3 million by December 2024. As more consumers engage with the credit system, understanding the factors that shape a credit profile and knowing what to do about them, remains a challenge for many.
CAIR combines data from multiple credit bureaus with Fibe’s proprietary AI-intelligence system, FibeSense. Credit AI Radar aims to empower customers with the same intelligence by placing the technology directly in their hands.
At the centre of the experience is Fiora, CAIR’s AI chatbot. Users can ask Fiora plain-language questions about their score, repayments, or credit habits, such as “What is my 6-month credit trend?”, and receive clear answers without financial jargon, along with visualised trends drawn from their own credit history. Fiora is available in Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, making credit guidance accessible across a wide base of Indian users.

1Q adj. EBITDA margin (13.3%, -10.8ppt YoY) & gross margin (49.5%, -680bps YoY) fell to multi-year lows, underscoring continued weakness in core profitability.
US sales of US$236mn (-6% QoQ despite the Bosutinib FTF launch) declined below pre-gRevlimid levels, pointing to erosion in base business.
At same time, strong ex-US growth appears increasingly investment-led and margin dilutive.
Key takeaways: (a) SG&A rose ~12% YoY in 1Q versus management’s FY27E guidance for a flat cost base; (b) management has identified the root cause of semaglutide-related quality issues and expects supply resumption by Nov-26, supporting 2H margin recovery; (c) remains confident of Abatacept approval by Dec-26.

Expert Take | Cryptocurrency | Market analysis by Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com
Bitcoin traded near $65,800 on Thursday, down about 1% over 24 hours, as the market consolidated after its recent advance. Immediate support lies around $65,500, followed by $65,000. A break below this region could expose the stronger on-chain demand shelf near $63,000. Resistance is visible around $66,500-$67,000, while the short-term-holder cost basis near $69,000 remains the more consequential hurdle.
On-chain conditions are improving, although the recovery remains narrow. Around 10% of Bitcoin’s supply has a cost basis near $63,000. This could provide a strong support zone if prices decline. Exchange inflows have fallen to a fraction of their early-June peak, indicating that immediate selling pressure has eased. However, recent accumulation has been concentrated among wallets holding 1,000-10,000 BTC, while broader wallet participation remains limited.
US spot Bitcoin ETF demand has strengthened materially. After a $424.7 million outflow on July 13, funds recorded six consecutive positive sessions between July 14 and July 21, attracting a combined $930.2 million. July 22 showed a preliminary inflow of only $3.8 million, with several major fund figures still unavailable.
Large-cap altcoins were mildly weaker. Ethereum declined about 0.3% to $1,929, BNB lost 0.5% to $570, XRP slipped 0.4% to $1.14, Solana fell 0.5% to $77.88, and TRON was nearly unchanged at $0.329. The limited moves indicate consolidation rather than broad altcoin capitulation.
The July 28-29 Federal Reserve meeting remains the key macro catalyst. Economists surveyed by Reuters expect the policy rate to remain at 3.50%-3.75%, although oil above $94 and the US 10-year Treasury yield near 4.66% have revived inflation and rate-hike concerns.
Our advice: Investors should avoid chasing Bitcoin near resistance. Staggered accumulation and disciplined position sizing remain preferable until Bitcoin clears $69,000 with sustained spot and ETF demand.

Rupee to remain under pressure on runaway oil rally; Brent tops $96
The Indian rupee is expected to remain under pressure through Thursday’s session as the worsening U.S.-Iran dispute fuels a further rally in oil prices.
The rupee is expected to trade in a 96.50-96.70 range, with risks tilted to the downside, although support from the Reserve Bank of India is likely to limit losses, a currency trader at a private sector bank said.
The currency settled at 96.5650 on Wednesday, hovering near its weakest level in more than two months.
The rupee has been under sustained pressure since tensions between the U.S. and Iran flared up again, triggering a fresh rally in oil prices. (Reuters)

Stock Markets today LIVE: Asian stocks rise after US tech earnings, oil at six-week highs
Asian stocks rose on Thursday after U.S. technology firms outlined significant capital spending plans that are likely to benefit chipmakers in the region, while the escalating war in the Middle East sent oil prices to six-week highs. Rising oil prices have also renewed inflationary concerns, pushing short-term U.S. Treasury yields to 17-week highs as traders wager the Federal Reserve may need to raise interest rates sooner rather than later. Brent crude futures rose 2% to $96 per barrel in early trading after the U.S. launched a new round of strikes on Iran and Yemen’s Houthis targeted oil tankers in the Red Sea, widening the scope of a conflict that has cast a shadow on the global markets
A lot of the spending is expected to boost Asian chipmakers. That took South Korea’s KOSPI up more than 3%, led by SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics . Japan’s Nikkei was up 1%.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan gained about 1% in early trading, set for a 3% rise for the week, snapping a two-week losing streak. (Reuters)

Stock Markets LIVE: US tariff threat drags Nifty Pharma 1.3% lower at close; Lupin, PPL Pharma lead decline
Pharma stocks closed sharply lower on Wednesday after the United States proposed steep tariffs on generic drug imports, with the Nifty Pharma Index ending 340 points, or 1.31 per cent, down at 25,752 against a previous close of 26,092. Eighteen of the index’s 20 constituents closed in the red, with trading volume reaching 315.07 lakh shares and a total traded value of ₹3,584.98 crore for the session.

Lupin was the session’s worst performer, closing down 4.35 per cent, followed by PPL Pharma at 4.20 per cent, Ajant Pharma at 3.25 per cent, and Auropharma at 2.96 per cent.... Read the full story here
