The Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), an institution of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE), will hold a stakeholders dialogue on seasonal forecast preparedness and planning on May 21.
Titled ‘Tracking the Monsoon’, the event will be hosted in association with the India Meteorological Department, Indian Meteorological Society, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority and Directorate of Environment and Climate Change.
It is a knowledge-sharing and dialogue platform aimed at presenting the seasonal monsoon outlook for Kerala and fostering proactive engagement among stakeholders across multiple sectors. With the 2026 monsoon approaching, the forum will seek to translate climate science into actionable insights through informed discussions, shared strategies, and strengthened preparedness, according to organisers.
It will bring together meteorologists, policymakers, line departments, disaster response teams, researchers and other key stakeholders. It will also review sectoral preparedness and response strategies, including disaster management, water resources, agriculture, public health, and local governance along with identifying actionable insights and promoting collaborative approaches for monsoon risk reduction and sustainable resource planning.
