In swift action, the Hoysala patrolling staff rescued five hotel workers after a fire broke out at Durgashree Hotel in Nagarabhavi during the early hours of Friday under the limits of Kamakshipalya Police Station.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 1.52 a.m. The police were alerted when a passerby noticed smoke and flames emerging from the hotel building and called the Namma 112 emergency helpline.

Following the alert, Hoysala-86 personnel attached to Kamakshipalya Police Station — ASI H.B. Kumar and police constable Yallalinga — rushed to the spot and reached the location within 11 minutes. By the time they arrived, dense smoke had engulfed parts of the building, trapping workers inside and making escape difficult.

The police personnel, along with locals, entered the premises and safely rescued all five workers. The victims were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital in the Hoysala vehicle without waiting for an ambulance, ensuring timely medical treatment.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel later brought the blaze under control, preventing further damage and possible casualties.

Police officials stated that the swift response and coordinated rescue effort helped avert a major tragedy.

In another instance of prompt emergency response, personnel from Wilson Garden Police Station prevented a major mishap after a fire broke out at a hut near Rani Park in Wilson Garden on April 27.

The fire was reported at around 7 a.m. through the Namma 112 emergency helpline by a member of the public.

Hoysala-20 personnel, ASI Altaf Hussain Dakhani and head constable Srikanth, rushed to the spot and reached the location within a minute of receiving the alert. Assessing the situation quickly, the officers, with assistance from residents, used water pipes to extinguish the flames before the fire could spread further.

Due to the timely intervention, the fire was brought under control and no casualties were reported.
