Team India returned to winning ways with a delightful performance with the bat against a brave Zimbabwe in the Super 8 fixture of the T20 World Cup 2026. India won the match by 72 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday. After being put into bat first, India managed to post the tournament's highest total of 256/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe never showed the required intent to chase down a score like this and folded at 184/6 in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya, who scored a half century in just 23 balls was named the player of the match for his all-round performance. Brian Bennett's unbeaten innings of 97* in 59 balls deserves applause as well.
