Tata Motors Demerger Record Date Today, Tata Motors Demerger Ex Date: Tata Motors shares will be in action today on account of demerger ex-date. Today (October 14) is also the demerger record date for Tata Motors. A special trading session will be conducted by NSE and BSE in Tata Motors shares to determine the demerger price. The special trading session will be conducted for an hour from 9 AM to 10 AM. Norman trading in Tata Motors will begin at 10 AM.

Tata Motors had fixed the demerger share ratio at 1:1. It means that one share of Rs 2 face value of the resulting company will be issued for ever one existing share held in Tata Motors. The face value of each share of the resulting company will be Rs 2.

"We wish to inform you that the Company has fixed Tuesday, October 14, 2025 as the Record Date for the purpose of ascertaining the shareholders of the Company who shall be issued and allotted 1 share of TMLCV (face value of Rs 2 each fully paid up), for every 1 share of the Company (face value of Rs 2 each fully paid up) of the same class of shares outstanding and as held by such shareholder in the Company on the Record Date," Tata Motors said in filing.

Tata Motors demerger, which was approved by the company's board in August 2024, came into effect from October 1.

Tata Motors demerger will split the existing company into two new listed companies -- TML Commercial Vehicles Limited (TMLCV or Resulting Company) and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV). The commercial vehicle company will house the commercial business while the passenger vehicle business will include all the passenger vehicles of which electric vehicles (EVs) and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will also be the part.
