K Krithivasan, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, took home a remuneration of Rs 28 crore in the financial year 2025-26. According to the company’s latest annual report, this marks a pay hike of 6.3 per cent year-on-year.
According to the IT major's annual report for FY 2025-26, the CEO's remuneration was 332.8 times the median remuneration of TCS employees.
As per the report, TCS’ non-executive directors are paid sitting fees of Rs 30,000 per meeting while Tata Group and TCS Chairman N Chandrasekaran abstained from receiving any commission from the IT major, drawing only Rs 4.2 lakh in sitting fees for the entire fiscal year.
"As a policy, N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, has abstained from receiving commission from the company and hence not stated," the annual report said.
As per the FY26 remuneration disclosures made in the report, Krithivasan's compensation package included a basic salary of Rs 1.67 crore, benefits, perquisites, and allowances of Rs 1.43 crore, and a performance-linked commission of Rs 25 crore.
The annual report also disclosed that newly appointed executive director & chief operating officer (COO) Aarthi Subramanian earned Rs 15 crore in commission, along with Rs 150.9 lakh in salary and Rs 183.3 lakh in benefits and allowances. Subramanian assumed the role effective May 1, 2025.
Similarly, TCS chief financial officer (CFO) Samir Seksaria’s remuneration ratio stood at 90.6 times the median employee pay. His remuneration increased 5.4 per cent during FY26.
TCS said managerial remuneration is decided by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee based on individual performance, company performance and prevailing market trends.
TCS salary hike: Double-digit increments
The report noted that the median remuneration of employees increased by 5.1 per cent during FY26. For junior and mid-level employees in India, the average annual salary increase was in the range of 4.5 per cent to 7 per cent, with top performers receiving double-digit increments.
TCS reported a total workforce of 5.84 lakh employees in FY26 while disclosing Rs 1,388 crore in restructuring expenses as part of a “future-ready” organisational transformation and reskilling programme.
The company stated its total employee headcount stood at 584,519 at the end of FY26, including 378,969 male employees and 205,550 female employees. It added over 44,000 freshers during the fiscal year and hired over 750 employees with deep advisory and consulting expertise.
The filing showed employee benefit expenses rose to Rs 1.55 lakh crore in FY26 from Rs 1.46 lakh crore in FY25.
TCS reported a 12.22 per cent jump in its March quarter net profit at Rs 13,718 crore.
For fiscal year 2025-26, its profit after tax inched up 1.35 per cent to Rs 49,210 crore, as against Rs 48,553 crore in FY25.
Revenue from operations jumped 9.64 per cent to Rs 70,698 crore in Q4 FY26, while the same for the full fiscal was higher by 4.58 per cent to Rs 2.67 lakh crore.
