The political storm around the TCS Nashik case intensified on Thursday, with Social Justice Minister and Guardian Minister of Sambhajinagar Sanjay Shirsat, alleging that the arrested accused, Nida Khan, was deliberately sheltered by a local corporator belonging to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

“The Nashik Police arrested Nida Khan from the house of an AIMIM corporator in my area. This clearly proves the connection. Former MP Imtiaz Jaleel is behind this entire operation," said Shirsat.

He claimed the corporator provided housing to Khan on Jaleel’s request and alleged the case was far from an isolated crime.

“This is not one Nida Khan, there are many such paid workers across Maharashtra. This is a full-fledged racket," he said.

In a formal letter addressed to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the minister demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into what he called a deep-rooted, politically protected network.

The minister also demanded a SIT formation through a letter, stating that a transparent, independent SIT inquiry is essential to restore public confidence and uncover all individuals, including political functionaries, who may have aided Khan.

Fadnavis, responding to the controversy, issued a sharp statement confirming that the investigation would widen.

“It is absolutely clear that an AIMIM corporator was behind hiding Nida Khan. An investigation will also be conducted to identify who else was behind that corporator. Who all are involved in the conversion racket? Who is aiding this racket? Every aspect will be thoroughly investigated," he said.

The Sambhajinagar minister reiterated that Khan lacked the capacity to mastermind such operations independently.

“Nida Khan is only a pawn. Powerful people are using her. AIMIM leaders are openly defending an accused named in an FIR; that makes them co-accused," he alleged.

“The chain extends to Malaysia and beyond. This wasn’t run by one girl. There are people above her, and the police will expose them," he added.

Responding to AIMIM’s chief, Asaduddin Owaisi, who alleged communal targeting, the minister said, “We are not against Muslims. Maharashtra has lakhs of Muslims; we celebrate Eid together. Owaisi is misguiding Muslim youth and diverting the issue."

He accused the party chief of pushing vulnerable youth into dangerous paths.

“They don’t do anything themselves; they make others do it and destroy people’s children," said Shirsat.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had earlier dismissed the allegations on Nida Khan, calling it a deliberate media-driven narrative.

“This is a media trial. When the media acts like judge and jury, it is dangerous. We have faith that the court will deliver justice and the girl, Nida Khan, will be proven innocent. This case will not stand in court," Owaisi said.

Nida Khan was arrested earlier this week by Nashik Police from Sambhajinagar. She has been remanded to police custody till May 11. Khan faces allegations of involvement in the TCS Nashik case. She is accused of targeting employees in a WhatsApp group, pressuring them to pray and eat non-vegetarian food. According to the FIR, she also allegedly advised women employees to dress and behave in accordance with Islamic traditions.
