Telangana government will collect feedback from every student through WhatsApp on the quality, size and overall suitability of school uniforms distributed in government schools and hostels, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Thursday.

The feedback will be used to improve the design, colour and distribution process of uniforms in the next academic year.

At a review meeting with officials, the Chief Minister directed officials not to compromise on the quality of uniforms under any circumstances. He instructed that all students should receive their uniforms by August 15, warning that any delay or negligence in distribution would invite strict action against the officials concerned.

The Chief Minister asked SERP Chief Executive Officer Divya to coordinate with district Collectors to ensure that women’s self-help groups engaged in stitching uniforms speed up the work.

Mr. Revanth Reddy alleged that the previous government had handled uniform distribution in an unscientific and arbitrary manner. He said the present government was reforming the system to ensure that students receive quality uniforms. Officials, he said, should always keep in mind that the programme is meant to benefit children from economically weaker sections.
