Teyana Taylor opens up about her Oscar nominations for 'One Battle After Another'

In the past few months, following the release of ‘One Battle After Another,’ Teyana Taylor has been on a roll with her feature in the film. The star has been nominated for and won many awards following the film’s success.

Now, in a recent interview, the famed actress opened up about finally landing an Oscar nomination for her film with Paul Thomas Anderson and how she has been feeling about the entire thing.

Teyana Taylor, while in conversation with People recently, addressed how she landed her Oscar nominations for ‘One Battle After Another.’ She shared that while she had decided that the announcement day was going to be like any other day for her, she was still caught off guard.Taylor revealed that she actually found out that she had been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress title at the Oscar Awards while she was filming. She shared that she had been prepping for leading one of the episodes of ‘Saturday Night Live’, when the segment itself started with the nomination announcement.Further adding context about the day she discovered she had been nominated, the star revealed, “I’m like, they don’t play no games! They get right to it.

… It’s not like you have time to settle in.” Taylor also shared that her name is almost always announced last due to everything being in alphabetical order. When her name was actually announced, she was sent into a state of shock, citing, “So after the fourth name I was like, ‘Oh my God.

’ And they said my name, and we just all started screaming. I lost my voice for maybe like four or five days, honestly.”

About ‘One Battle After Another’

Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ is based on the story of a former revolutionary who lives in hiding with his now 16-year-old daughter. When the past comes knocking and his daughter’s life is in danger, he has to do everything in his power to get her back, no matter the cost. Taylor played the supporting role of Leonardo DiCaprio’s character’s wife, who gets caught by the authorities and gives her friend’s locations to the officers in exchange for immunity.

She, however, runs away somewhere, and is presumed dead for the most part of the film, until the very end when her daughter reads a letter from her.
