Thrissur District Congress Committee president Joseph Tajet on Monday sought an explanation from the State leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party on reports that Union Minister and Thrissur MP Suresh Gopi name has been included on the final voters’ list under the Guruvayur Assembly constituency following the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls.
He alleged that Mr. Gopi had cited Thrissur as his permanent residence during the general elections held in 2024. In the local body elections held in December 2025, he had shown his permanent residence in Thiruvananthapuram. He was a resident of Puducherry when he had bought his car, Mr. Tajet said while referring to the alleged registration of the actor’s two luxury cars in Puducherry.
He alleged that the inclusion of Mr. Gopi’s name in different cities amounted to violation of democratic norms and ethics. The BJP should take steps to correct if he was taking the process lightly. The Minister was mocking the people of Thrissur by engaging in such acts, he said.
