Members of the managing committee, governing councils, heads of institutes and staff of Bharatesh Education Trust paid rich tributes to the former Minister for Planning and Statistics D. Sudhakar who passed away on Sunday.
Member of the Managing Committee Hirachand Kalmani recalled the association of Bharatesh institutions with Sudhakar over the years.
Secretary of BET Vinod Doddanavar acknowledged the immense popularity of the four-time MLA and Minister among the people of all strata in his constituency mainly due to the work he took up in Chitradurga, Hiriyur, Challakere and surrounding areas.
He mentioned that the recent development work at Kamal Basadi was the first sanctioned by the Minister during his late- night visit last year which led to funds being sanctioned by the State government.
“The Minister was also responsible for the passing of the Minorities Educational Institutions Bill in the Assembly. Sudhakar visited Bharatesh campuses several times in the past decade and his association strengthened with the management and also students of the trust,” he said.
