The AMMK chief also questioned why Vijay had not personally taken the MLA to meet the Governor if support had genuinely been extended to TVK.

The political deadlock over government formation in Tamil Nadu intensified on Saturday after AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran alleged that a video released by TVK showing AMMK MLA Kamaraj supporting actor-politician Vijay was either forged or generated using artificial intelligence.

Addressing a press conference, Dhinakaran demanded proof regarding the circumstances in which the video was recorded and questioned the authenticity of the footage.

He said an investigation should be conducted to determine whether the clip was genuine or AI-generated.

The controversy erupted after TVK submitted letters of support to Tamil Nadu Governor RV Arlekar while staking claim to form the government. According to Dhinakaran, only a copy of the support letter linked to the AMMK MLA was submitted to the Governor instead of the original document.

He claimed that during the verification process by the Lok Bhavan secretary, Kamaraj realised that his signature had allegedly been forged. Dhinakaran accused TVK of attempting to secure power “at any extent" and alleged that the party was displaying “arrogance and hatred".

The AMMK chief also questioned why Vijay had not personally taken the MLA to meet the Governor if support had genuinely been extended to TVK.

“Who took that video of AMMK MLA? Vijay or Bussy or Sengottaiyan or Venkatraman or CTR Nirmal Kumar. Where did you take that video?" Dhinakaran asked during the press conference.

Dhinakaran further accused TVK of trying to create confusion within the NDA alliance. He demanded that TVK produce the original signed copy as well as the original video allegedly showing the MLA signing the letter.

The latest allegations have further complicated the ongoing tussle over government formation in Tamil Nadu, where TVK is still trying to secure enough support to cross the majority mark in the Assembly.

AMMK has also filed a police complaint against the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), accusing the Vijay-led party of using a forged support letter in the crucial numbers game that has kept the state on its toes.

The Assembly election resulted in a hung verdict, with TVK winning 108 seats in the 234 member House. The DMK secured 59 seats, AIADMK 47, PMK 4, IUML 2, CPI 2 and CPI(M) 2, while BJP, DMDK and AMMK won one seat each. Congress later extended support to TVK, but the party still remains short of the numbers needed to form the government.
