Two youths arrested under POCSO for ‘sexually assaulting’ two minor girls

Two minor girls, who are studying Class 10 in West Godavari district, were allegedly sexually assaulted by two youths in a lodge at Mogalturu village.

The accused, T. Durga Prasad and T. Rajendra, were booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and other charges, said Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi.

The main accused, Durga Prasad, befriended one of the victims through a social media group and invited her to the lodge a few days ago. When the girl came with her friend, the accused reportedly raped them.

Following a complaint, the Mogalturu police registered a case and arrested the accused on Saturday, the SP said.
