West Bengal YouTuber, His Teen Son Arrested For Raping, Blackmailing Schoolgirl

YouTuber Arbindu Mondal and his minor son were arrested for raping and blackmailing a Class 9 girl in Bachra Mohanpur, North 24 Parganas, after luring her with reels.

A well-known YouTuber from West Bengal and his minor son have been arrested by Kolkata Police for allegedly raping a Class 9 schoolgirl after luring her with the promise of featuring her in reels. The incident took place in the Bachra Mohanpur area under Harua Police Station in North 24 Parganas district.

It is learnt that the YouTuber Arbindu Mondal and his son also filmed her secretly when she was changing and blackmailed her to share them on social media if she told anyone.

The 15-year-old rape survivor was reportedly lured by the accused with promises of making dance and song videos for Facebook reels. The minor girl was also taken to different places on the pretext of shooting her videos for social media. The girl’s family, who were neighbours with the accused, did not object to the matter. However, along with making videos, some objectionable photos and videos of the girl were shot secretly.

It is alleged that the girl student was raped multiple times, and during one such incident, Arbindu’s son put sindoor (vermilion) on her head, implying marriage, IANS reported.

On October 7, she confided in her mother. The girl told her mother that, under the pretext of making her a content creator, they secretly recorded obscene videos of her on their mobile phone, threatened to release them on social media, and repeatedly blackmailed her.

Based on the complaint lodged by the minor, Harua police have apprehended the father-son duo, who are well-known online figures with 4.5 million followers. The girl’s father is an officer of the Kolkata Police. The girl’s family has demanded severe punishment for the accused, and they will be produced in the Basirhat subdivision court today.
