As the debate over the NEET paper leak and the subsequent Re-NEET UG 2026 continues, Panshul Bansal, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 2, has gone viral for his message on resilience and staying focused despite adversity. Speaking after the results, Panshul admitted that he was initially devastated when the original examination was cancelled.
“…Initially, I was sad and despaired that the exam got cancelled. Then I thought to myself that crying would serve no purpose. So, I got myself together and started focussing on my regular schedule that was before the first NEET. I thought that I should give it my all and see it that God has given me an opportunity for scoring better because He knows that I can score better. My family supported and consoled me well," he was quoted by ANI.
Addressing fellow aspirants, he added, “Conduct of exams are not in your hands. So, see it this way – what happened, happened for good. Take it in this way that you would perform even better and score better…"
He also stressed the importance of perseverance, saying, “When the paper is cancelled, you need a lot of resilience and not quit…That is important."
Internet Reacts To Panshul Bansal’s Viral Video
His remarks quickly spread across social media, where users were sharply divided. Many praised his outlook. One comment read, “This is how students should be. Take the adversity and convert it into a boon. Anyways general category students learn this early.. if you have to be chosen over somebody who is getting success with 1/3 of your marks, then winning attitude is necessary."
Another user wrote, “This the difference between a winner and a loser. Loser looks to blame someone else for his failure while a winner works on himself. Tight slipper slap for all cockroaches and their parents 😂"
Others appreciated his parents’ role, commenting, “I solute his parent who are responsible parent and they raised their son in correct way… Don’t spoil your life and career for someone’s mistake."

But amidst the student protests taking over the Capital, not everyone agreed with the topper’s message. Some felt his remarks overlooked the larger issues surrounding the examination controversy. One user commented, “Jo hota hain acche ke liye hota hai. What a cope." Another wrote, “How to have whole batch against you even before setting foot in the college."
There were also concerns that the student could become the target of online trolling. One comment read, “Someone tell his parents to save him from being trolled. He’s being used as a puppet to further some people’s agenda."
Meanwhile, another user shifted the focus back to the protests, writing, “What do @DelhiPolice officers, the lathicharging ones, really feel about this? Is it the burden of the job or have they totally turned fascist? What happens to their kids tomorrow when another paper leaks?"
