A high-level delegation from the World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited the Amaravati capital city projects on Monday and reviewed the development works being executed by the A.P. Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and its associated agencies.
The delegation interacted with CRDA Commissioner V. Vijay Rama Raju, Additional Commissioners G.S.S. Praveenchand and K. Karthik, Amaravati Development Corporation CMD D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy and other senior officials.
The WB delegation comprised vice-president and chief risk officer Dennis McLaughlin, acting country director Paul Procee, and Abhishek Singh, Patrick Fetue, Christian Peter, Balakrishna Menon, Gerald Ollivier, Joseph Ese Akpokodje and Venkata Rao Bayana.
During the visit, the WB and ADB delegates reviewed the progress of infrastructure works, environmental and social safeguard measures, labour welfare facilities and smart city initiatives in Amaravati. They also visited the CRDA Command and Control Centre lab, where they enquired about the integrated monitoring and smart governance systems.
The delegation visited the gravity canal at the N16 Junction near Dondapadu, the first-aid room at the NGO Towers, labour camp sites, the E6 trunk road and SRM University.
The WB and ADB delegates also held discussions with S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, on the ongoing development works.
