Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Satya Kumar Yadav on Friday rubbished the claims being made on the social media platforms that reportedly owed their allegiance to the YSRCP that its president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had a decisive role in actor Vijay-led TVK’s victory in Tamil Nadu.
Mr. Satya Kumar was referring to the reported use of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s portrait by Mr. Vijay during his campaign in the run-up to the recent Assembly elections.
“Who are making these claims? Did Mr. Vijay say so? Is the party claiming Mr. Jagan’s role in West Bengal and Puducherry elections too?” he questioned, and said such claims lacked sense.
Mr. Satya Kumar was speaking to the media on the sidelines of presenting ‘Saarey’, a collection of sacred offerings, to the Thathayagunta Gangamma temple in view of the ongoing folk festival.
“The person, whom the people of this State had rejected and limited him to 11 seats, is not recognised beyond the State’s border. Such laughable claims stem out of frustration,” he sniped. When asked about YSRCP leader R.K. Roja’s campaign for the DMK, he wondered how the YSRCP could undertake contradictory campaigns.
“On the one hand, they say Ms. Roja campaigned for the DMK, which lost, and, on the other, they attribute TVK’s victory to Mr. Jagan, who did not matter there,” the Minister ridiculed.
