₹740 crore released to Health Department

The government has released ₹740 crore to the Health Ddepartment to provide free and quality healthcare services to rural populations, said Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

With this allocation, the government will undertake the construction of 1,569 new health sub-centres across rural areas in the State, thereby strengthening medical infrastructure at the grassroots level.

In addition, free diagnostic services will be made available locally, eliminating the need for rural residents to travel to towns for basic medical tests, a statement said.

By enabling early detection of diseases at the primary healthcare level and ensuring timely treatment, the government aims to significantly reduce the financial burden of medical expenses on poor and middle-class families.
