ensex Today, Nifty 50 | Stock Market Highlights- Find here all the key highlights related to Sensex, Nifty, BSE, NSE, share prices and Indian stock markets for July 24, 2026.
Indian benchmark equity indices ended lower on Friday, extending their losing streak to a fifth consecutive session as persistent geopolitical tensions in West Asia and renewed concerns over US trade tariffs weighed on investor sentiment. The BSE Sensex fell 331 points, or 0.43 per cent, to close at 76,059.17, while the Nifty 50 declined 102 points, or 0.43 per cent, to settle at 23,767.70.
Of the 4,385 stocks traded on the BSE, 2,144 advanced, 2,032 declined, while 209 remained unchanged. A total of 93 stocks hit their 52-week highs, whereas 99 touched their 52-week lows. 155 stocks were locked in the upper circuit, while 166 hit the lower circuit.
Weakness across Asian markets reinforced the risk-off mood, though gains in IT and media stocks helped limit losses. Auto, metal and realty shares led the declines, while Brent crude prices eased nearly 4 per cent.
The rupee recovered 18 paise to close at 96.55 against the US dollar, supported by likely RBI intervention, even as foreign fund outflows and global uncertainty kept pressure on domestic markets.

Swarnendu Bhushan, Co - Head of Research, PL Capital On crude Oil
Middle East crisis doesn’t appear to go away with US hitting Iran and Iran retaliating and extending the same to more and more neighbouring countries. The region is home to ~30% of global oil production while Strait of Hormuz accounts for 14-15mnbopd of global oil demand and 5-6mnbopd of refined products. The region is also home to large storage terminals, gas producing/exporting sites as well as oil refineries. Although it is difficult to comment on how long and how worse the war situation may be, as long as crude oil supply is impacted, oil prices are expected to remain high. It has already jumped from USD70/bbl in past few days to USD100/bbl. Rising oil prices would worsen the already loss making Oil Marketing Companies and they are expected to remain under pressure if oil prices remain strong. On the other hand, although financials of upstream companies are likely to be better, in absence of any structural volume growth story, these are unlikely to give a significant outperformance. Damage to refineries is likely to keep product cracks higher for longer, thereby benefiting the Indian refiners. Independent refiners like MRPL and Chennai Petroleum are likely to continue posting good numbers and refining segment of OMCs are also expected to benefit.

Baring realises over 20x return through part exit from LOHUM
LOHUM, India’s largest diversified producer of sustainable critical minerals and advanced materials, along with Baring Private Equity Partners (India), today announced that Baring Private Equity Partners (India) realised approximately ₹370 crore, generating a return of over 20x on invested capital (MOIC) and an IRR in excess of 80 per cent, through a part exit from a fund that has crossed the end of its term. Baring remains a significant shareholder in LOHUM through its other funds.
Baring first backed LOHUM in 2020, drawn to the company’s leadership team, its differentiated technology, and a shared conviction that India could emerge as a global hub for critical minerals and advanced materials supply chains. Five years on, that early bet has become one of the highest-multiple exits in the Baring portfolio to date.
The transaction also reflects LOHUM’s long-standing commitment to shared ownership within the company. To date, LOHUM has enabled over ₹100 crore in cumulative ESOP liquidity for its employees, a milestone that remains rare among Indian startups and echoes the company’s philosophy of building wealth alongside its workforce, not just its shareholders.
Notably, a significant share of the transaction was absorbed by LOHUM’s existing investors and their LPs, who chose to increase their exposure to the company. This development is a strong validation of LOHUM’s growth story, its leadership, its technology, and the scale of opportunity that remains ahead.
Over the past five years, LOHUM has built world-class, homegrown capabilities across the refining and recycling of critical minerals: cobalt, copper, lithium, nickel, platinum group metals, and advanced materials such as precious metal catalysts, rare earth magnets, and cathode active materials (CAM). By recycling and refining critical materials from industrial and energy transition waste in addition to sustainably extracting minerals from primary sources, LOHUM is helping meet the world’s rising demand for critical minerals while cutting environmental impact and import dependence for India and for the industries being built on these minerals globally.

Gold silver
Gold performance for the week and outlook: Colin Shah, MD, Kama Jewelry
“The gold market showcased a highly dynamic trend this week, reflecting the impact from the tension between elevated geopolitical uncertainties and macroeconomic friction. While the surge in energy prices initially fueled the safe haven appeal, lingering inflationary concerns and the prospects of a conservative approach in the monetary policy capped the rally, kept the price in check with a modest weekly gain.
Going forward, the price trajectory of the yellow metal will largely depend on the Central Bank’s commentary and also the US Fed’s decision. It is likely that immediate rate actions may remain on pause, although, any hawkish tone regarding inflation could trigger short-term market recalibration. Having said that, support near USD 4000 remains a crucial floor for the metal.
On the demand dynamics, long term structural demand will continue to be resilient with mild jitters based on real-time economic developments, with consumer preference inclining more towards lightweight jewellery given the steep gold prices raising concerns around general affordability.”

Analysis | Kotak Securities Research | Sona BLW Precision (Reco: Sell, FV: Rs. 675) - In-line quarter; laying the foundation for next leg of growth
Sona Comstar 1QFY27 EBITDA was in line with our estimates. We expect revenue growth to accelerate, owing to (1) recovery in differential assembly business CY2026E onwards, (2) strong momentum in traction motors and railway segments and (3) incremental opportunity in differential gears. Beyond current products, we expect the Physical AI and BEV traction motor opportunity to drive medium-term growth prospects. However, valuation remains expensive at 54X one-year forward EPS, which drives SELL rating.

Kotak Securities | Analysis | SRF (Reco: Sell, FV: Rs. 2380) - Wartime windfalls, HFC prices offset SCB softness
SRF’s 1QFY27 earnings came in sharply above estimates, but driven primarily by windfall gains in the non-chemicals segments and pricing tailwinds in refrigerants. We raise FY2027E EPS by 15% and FY2028E-29E by a more modest 7-8%, chiefly reflecting an improved outlook for the lower-multiple Performance Films segment. Valuations remain stretched in the context of a commodity-heavy business mix. Retain SELL with a revised FV of Rs2,380.

Analysis | Kotak Securities | HPCL (Reco: Reduce, FV: Rs. 400) - 1Q weaker; after brief respite, war and woes are back
HPCL’s EBITDA loss was 12%/27% above KIE/consensus estimates. However, fortunes reversed in June-early July, with retail price hikes lifting breakeven to US$102-105/bbl while crude prices corrected. However, relief was short-lived. Renewed disruptions in West Asia have again stalled Strait of Hormuz flows and concerns related to shipments to Asia through Bab-el- Mandeb persist. Oil prices are back near US$100/bbl; with global inventories at record lows, risks remain skewed to the upside. As OMCs cushion most of the oil price volatility, near-term earnings will be very volatile. Retain REDUCE.

78 SMEs raise ₹3,752 crore through IPOs in H1 CY26 as fresh capital drives fundraising
According to B2K Analytics, 78 SMEs got listed during the H1 CY26 at a cumulative issue size of Rs 3,752 crores. Fresh Capital remained the primary source of funds, contributing Rs 3,555 crore, or nearly 95% of the total issue size in H1 CY26. The Offer for Sale (OFS) component stood at Rs 197 crore, lower than Rs 328 crore in H1 CY25, pointing that issuers are raising primary capital to fund business expansion rather than facilitate exits for existing shareholders.
While the number of listings was lower than H1 CY25 (88) and H1 CY24 (116), the overall amount raised remained tad lower than the Rs 4,004 crore raised in H1 CY25. This indicates that despite fewer IPOs, the companies raised sizeable capital from the market.

Expert Take | Market analysis | Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com
Bitcoin traded near $65,100 on Friday, falling about 1% over the past 24 hours. The decline came as surging oil prices, higher Treasury yields, and renewed expectations of further Federal Reserve tightening reduced demand for risk assets.Immediate support is located around $64,600-$65,000, followed by the stronger on-chain demand shelf near $63,000. Resistance is visible at $65,800-$66,000, followed by $67,000 and the short-term-holder cost basis near $69,000.
On-chain conditions remain constructive but incomplete. The $69,000 level is the average breakeven price for recent buyers, while the $63,000 area remains the strongest nearby demand zone.Exchange inflows continue to fade, reducing immediate sell-side pressure. However, accumulation remains concentrated among wallets holding 1,000-10,000 BTC, and spot participation has not broadened sufficiently to confirm a durable breakout.
Institutional demand has improved materially. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $999.3 million in inflows across seven consecutive positive sessions from July 14 to July 22. These inflows more than offset the $424.7 million outflow recorded on July 13. July 23 showed a preliminary $22.6 million outflow, although BlackRock’s IBIT figure remained unavailable.
Large-cap altcoins were broadly weaker. Ethereum declined 2.7% to $1,875, BNB fell 0.6% to $567, XRP dropped 2.5% to $1.11, and Solana lost 2.9% to $75.64. TRON was comparatively resilient, remaining almost unchanged at $0.329. The larger declines in Ethereum and Solana indicate that higher-beta assets are bearing more of the current risk reduction.
The July 28-29 Federal Reserve meeting is the main macro catalyst. Markets now assign roughly a one-in-three probability of an immediate rate increase. Brent crude near $100.85 and the US 10-year Treasury yield around 4.70% have revived inflation concerns and could keep liquidity conditions restrictive.
Our advice: Investors should avoid chasing short-term rebounds. Staggered accumulation, limited leverage and disciplined position sizing remain preferable until Bitcoin holds above $66,000 and clears $69,000 with stronger spot and ETF demand.

Analysis | Kotak Securities | Vishal Mega Mart (Reco: Buy, FV: Rs. 150) - Decent revenue print; margins disappoint a tad
VMM reported consolidated revenue growth of 19% yoy, 1.9% behind estimates, driven by SSSG of 10.0% and an 11.3% yoy increase in the retail area. We believe lower revenue contribution from new stores drove the revenue miss. EBITDA of Rs5.4 bn was 3.2% lower than estimates. VMM added 24 stores in 1QFY27. We trim FY2027-29 EBITDA estimates by 1-3%, as we align employee costs with higher minimum wages. Changes in estimates and roll forward to September 2028 drive an unchanged FV of Rs150. Maintain BUY.
- July 24, 2026 10:19
Kotak Securities | Meesho (Reco: Reduce, FV: Rs. 200) - Healthy growth with some margin improvement
Meesho reported 1QFY27 revenue growth of 48% yoy for the core marketplace business. The underlying NMV growth was 34% yoy, which was modestly ahead of estimates. Adjusted EBITDA loss declined from Rs2.2 bn in 4Q to Rs1.8 bn in 1QFY27, driven by better monetization and normalization of logistics cost. Meesho seems to be progressing well on its unit economics and we continue to bake in EBITDA breakeven in FY2028. We increase FY2027-29 NMV estimates by 2-4%, which results in a revised FV of Rs200 (Rs195 earlier). We await a better entry point in the name.
- July 24, 2026 10:17
Kotak Securities Research | Eternal (Reco: Buy, FV: Rs. 395) - Blinkit undervalued or Dmart overvalued?
Blinkit is set to surpass Dmart’s revenues by 3QFY27, albeit with lower profitability (we estimate 1.1% EBITDA margin for Blinkit versus 7.5% for Dmart in FY2027E). While margin alignment between the two will take time, we do note the wide market cap. differential between the two stocks. We have found Dmart generally overvalued, given middling growth and low RoCE generation and believe Blinkit’s valuation will catch up as the business model stabilizes (with revenue growth slowing down over time and margins improving). We retain BUY on Eternal and REDUCE on Dmart.

Stock Market LIVE: BPCL (Reco: Reduce, FV: Rs. 325) - 1Q surprisingly strong, but war and woes are back: Kotak Securities Research
We had expected OMCs to report steep 1Q losses due to West Asia disruptions. While HPCL’s EBITDA loss was 12%/27% above KIE/consensus estimates, BPCL reported a much lower EBITDA loss of Rs 41 bn, beating consensus/KIE by 70%/76%. The surprise was driven by a stronger-than- expected GRM and adventitious gains. However, the West Asia situation has deteriorated rapidly, with oil prices rebounding to ~US$100/bbl. Coupled with low global inventories, risks remain skewed to the upside. As OMCs absorb much of the oil price volatility, earnings are likely to remain highly volatile in the near term. Maintain REDUCE.
- July 24, 2026 10:16
Stock Market Today LIVE: Cipla (Reco: Buy, FV: Rs. 1660) - US roadmap stays intact
Cipla reported a largely in-line performance in 1QFY27, led by steady gains in India and the US. The company continues to guide for annualized US sales of ~US$1 bn by end-FY2027E, led by five key launches (launch timelines stay on track for now). Assuming a gradual build through the year with some buffer, we bake in a quarterly US sales exit run-rate of US$230 mn for Cipla in FY2027E. Under the new leadership, we would keep a close eye on Cipla’s innovation strategy, even as we do not expect any major strategy shift in generics. Driven by a US recovery and healthy growth in India/EMs, we bake in a ~10% EPS CAGR over FY2026-29E. Retain BUY with an FV of Rs1,660.

Market Analysis | Crypto | Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO, Pi42
The latest correction across the crypto market reflects how quickly global geopolitical developments can influence investor sentiment across asset classes. Bitcoin’s pullback towards the mid $64,000 range, alongside weakness in Ethereum and other leading digital assets, comes amid heightened uncertainty following the escalation in the Iran conflict and a broader shift away from high-growth assets. At the same time, the sharp liquidation of leveraged positions suggests that the market is flushing out excessive short-term speculation, which is a healthy process before the next phase of price discovery.
Long-term investors should avoid reacting emotionally to short-term volatility and instead focus on portfolio discipline and gradual accumulation through staggered investments. Crypto remains a long-term innovation story driven by institutional participation, blockchain adoption and improving market infrastructure. Periods like these often remind investors that patience, diversification and a measured investment approach tend to deliver better outcomes than attempting to time every market move.

Stock Markets LIVE: Interglobe Aviation (Reco: Buy, FV: Rs. 5900) - Pass-through of cost build-up to accelerate in 2Q
IndiGo’s results were a miss, led by hard-to-estimate fuel costs. It was able to pass on a dominant share of the fuel cost rise in 1Q and endeavors to cover part of other cost rises in 2Q. The key call to be taken is whether pricing upticks sustain beyond the quantum required to negate sticky cost inflation (currency, lower pilot productivity). Here we continue to have a positive view, given passengers’ acceptance of price hikes and sustained capacity cuts from Air India, while acknowledging such initial trends may not sustain entirely. 4-5% EPS cuts on lower ASK and slightly lower spreads, coupled with a 1X lower multiple (on uncertainty linked to Adani Group’s potential entry in airlines), yield an FV of Rs5,900 (Rs6,300 earlier). Retain BUY.

Stock Markets today LIVE: Infosys (Reco: Buy, FV: Rs. 1200) - A perfect storm
Infosys missed revenue estimates by ~1%, whereas the margin was in line. Organic guidance cut of ~1.7% at the midpoint was disappointing and driven by macro uncertainties, AI deflation and share loss to aggressive competition. Infosys is set up for a couple of weak years on revenue growth due to share loss in a European automotive client, weak discretionary spending and higher vulnerability to an AI deflation impact. AI strategy is prudent and AI revenue is growing at a fast clip, but will not provide material offset to headwinds in FY2027-28E. Infosys has promoted an internal candidate to take over the CEO role. Valuations are cheap at 13X FY2028E EPS. Retain BUY with an FV of Rs1,200 (down from Rs1,220).

Commodity Live today: Crude oil soars above $100
Brent crude held at $100.85 a barrel, after surging 7% overnight to a two-month high of $102 as attacks by Iran-aligned Houthis on Saudi tankers in the Red Sea choked off a second crucial Middle East artery for global oil supplies, alongside Iran’s near-closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Two weeks since the effective collapse of an interim truce meant to end the war, the U.S. military launched air strikes on Iran into Friday morning while Tehran fired at neighbouring Arab countries that host U.S. bases. With the conflict showing little signs of abating, Brent has soared nearly 40% this month alone.
