Adani Group eyes airline launch, seeks clearance (Representational image)
Adani Airlines News: Adani Group has approached the government to relax a rule that prevents certain airport operators from owning stakes in scheduled airlines, according to a report by The Economic Times.
If the rule is changed, it could pave the way for the conglomerate to launch its own airline, the report said, citing government officials and company executives.
The report comes after a Bloomberg report revealed that government has initiated talks on a policy change that would allow airport operators to own and run airlines, potentially clearing a path for the Adani Group and GMR Airports Ltd. to have their own carriers.
