The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has demanded that the Congress government allot/sanction single-bedroom houses being constructed by it without collecting any cost and not collect ₹6 lakh from every beneficiary, and also handover the 39,000 double-bedroom houses, which are yet to be allotted, constructed by the previous BRS government to the beneficiaries.
In case Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy agreed for their suggestion, they would felicitate him, BRS leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav, K.P. Vivekand, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Mutha Gopa, Kaleru Venkatesh, Shambipur Raju, Surabhi Vani Devi, Dasoju Sravan and others said here on Thursday. They stated that the previous BRS government had constructed one-lakh 2-BHK houses in the city on valuable lands.
However, the Congress government had failed to construct even one house even 30 months after coming to power. Ministers were going to town every day stating that their government would construct Indiramma Indlu, and a total of about 8,000 such single-bedrooms houses were being planned in the city.
