The Bantwal Town police on Friday (July 17, 2026) secured Chethan, 22, who allegedly hacked 21-year-old Lavanya to death at B. C. Road KSRTC bus stand on Thursday (July 16, 2026).

The police said that the accused had consumed rat poison and was admitted to a hospital. Further details are awaited.
