Key Highlights
- Sensex closed flat at 77,186.87; and Nifty 50 dipped marginally lower by 5.75 pts or 0.02% to 24,072.75.
- Nine of the 16 major sectors logged gains while the broader small-caps and mid-caps fell 0.1% and 0.4%, respectively.
- Heavyweight financials lost 0.5% after quarterly results, with ICICI Lombard falling 10.5% to a two-year low on fears earnings pressure will persist, while ICICI Prudential Life slid 3.1%.
- The IT index gained 0.7% after slipping 1.7% in the previous two sessions. Wipro and Tech Mahindra , which are due to report after market hours, gained 1.8% and 0.8%.

TFS-operated airports continued to witness resilient passenger traffic despite temporary headwinds from geopolitical disruptions in the Middle East and industry-wide operational challenges.
Delhi remained the key growth driver, reporting passenger traffic of 6.6mn in June 2026 (+6.8% YoY) and 20.4mn in Q1FY27 (+6.9% YoY), marking its highest-ever Q1 passenger traffic. Domestic traffic stood at 4.8mn in June (+8.6% YoY), while international traffic was 1.7mn (+1.9% YoY). For Q1FY27, domestic traffic reached 15.2mn, the highest ever for any Q1, while international traffic stood at 5.2mn (-0.1% YoY), impacted by Middle East-related geopolitical disruptions.
Hyderabad continues to remain impacted by temporary disruptions in flight operations, with passenger traffic declining to 2.3mn in June 2026 (-12.9% YoY). Domestic traffic stood at 1.9mn (-14.9% YoY), while international traffic was 0.4mn (-2.8% YoY). Despite the YoY decline, international passenger traffic recovered sequentially to 0.43mn in June 2026, up 0.02mn (+3.8% MoM), continuing its upward trend from 0.32mn in March 2026. June 2026 recorded the highest international passenger traffic and aircraft movements since February 2026.
Mopa, Goa reported passenger traffic of 0.34mn in June 2026 (-17.6% YoY), while Q1FY27 traffic stood at 1.16mn (-5.6% YoY). Domestic passenger traffic was 0.33mn (-16.4% YoY) in June and 1.12mn (-3.3% YoY) in Q1FY27. International traffic stood at 0.01mn (-41.5% YoY) in June and 0.04mn (-42.5% YoY) in Q1FY27. The moderation in domestic traffic was primarily attributable to temporary industry-wide operational disruptions, while international traffic was affected by geopolitical instability in the Middle East.
Other Airport Update:
Bhogapuram Airport is in its final stages, with construction progressing steadily across multiple fronts and overall project completion reaching ~99.73% as of June 30, 2026.

We remain positive on Travel Food Services, supported by improving traffic momentum across key airport locations, continued outlet/lounge additions and ongoing premiumisation trend in airport F&B and travel retail. Given TFS’ presence across high-passenger-traffic airports such as Delhi, Hyderabad and Goa, we believe recovery in passenger traffic, especially international traffic as geopolitical disruptions normalize, should provide an incremental growth tailwind. Further, rising dwell time, higher spends per passenger and premiumization across airport consumption categories should continue to support healthy growth over the medium term.

· Price Movement – Gold and Silver prices are trading around support levels as the Middle East conflict kept escalating with no signs of slowing down, wiping out recent optimism about easing inflation and stirring worries that rising oil prices could force the Fed’s hand on interest rates. Investors are now turning their attention to remarks from Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan and Fed Vice Chair Philip Jefferson, both due to speak later today.
· Geopolitical Tensions – The US carried out fresh strikes on Iranian targets on Wednesday, though President Trump said Tehran had shown some willingness to return to the negotiating table..
· Macro-Economic Signals – US consumer and producer inflation both slowed in June, helped by falling energy costs, adding to evidence that inflation was cooling off before the latest flare-up in the Middle East. Even so, traders are still pricing in roughly a 73% chance of a December Fed rate hike, according to the CME FedWatch Tool.
Technical Triggers
· Gold’s next move still hinges on how the US-Iran situation develops. Holding above $4,090 (₹1,44,000) could open the path to $4,160 (₹1,47,000). But a slip below $4,000 (₹1,40,000) risks a deeper slide toward $3,900 (₹1,37,000).
· A sustained move above of Silver above $63 (₹2,30,000) could push it toward $70–71 (₹2,51,000–2,55,000), while a break below $58 (₹2,20,000) could drag it down to $55 (₹2,10,000) and even $50 (~ ₹1,90,000).

The index climbed to an intraday high near 24,220 before paring gains as Brent crude extended its rally and renewed US-Iran tensions around the Strait of Hormuz dented risk sentiment. Financials provided stability, with the Nifty Bank advancing 0.51%, while IT stocks underperformed following IBM’s softer revenue outlook. Overnight, US markets finished higher, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.38% and the Nasdaq adding 0.62%, supported by strength in mega-cap technology stocks and softer US wholesale inflation data that eased concerns over further policy tightening.
Asian markets are witnessing a mixed start on Thursday, with Japan’s Nikkei trading lower while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is outperforming, gaining nearly 300 points. Brent crude remains the key monitor, holding above $85 per barrel for a third consecutive session amid persistent supply disruption concerns, posing a headwind for India’s inflation and current account outlook.
GIFT Nifty around 24,110 indicates a flat-to-positive opening for domestic equities.
From a technical perspective, the near-term trend remains constructive as long as the Nifty sustains above the 24,000 mark, which coincides with the 20-day moving average and acted as a strong support during Wednesday’s session. A decisive move above 24,200 could trigger fresh momentum towards 24,300–24,400, while a breach below 24,000 may invite profit booking towards 23,900 and 23,800. With India VIX remaining subdued at 13.27, volatility is likely to stay contained, although any moderation in crude oil prices could provide the next catalyst for a stronger upside move.

Bitcoin holds steady after inflation-led recovery

Bitcoin traded near $64,670 on Thursday, remaining broadly unchanged over 24 hours after the previous session’s inflation-led recovery. Softer U.S. consumer and producer inflation data reduced fears of an immediate Federal Reserve rate increase. However, renewed geopolitical tensions and higher oil prices prevented a stronger risk-on move.
Immediate support is located around $64,300-$64,000, followed by $63,000 and the stronger $62,000 level. Bitcoin faces resistance near $65,500, corresponding with its recent high, before the market can target the $67,000 region. A sustained move above $65,500 would strengthen the recovery. A break below $64,000 could push Bitcoin back into its earlier consolidation range.
On-chain conditions remain mixed. Bitcoin’s True Market Mean is estimated at around $76,600, while the short-term holder cost basis is near $72,200. The current price remains below these key investor breakeven levels. Long-term holders recently accounted for 43% of total realised value, with realised losses reaching about $280 million a day. This suggests that some older investors continue to reduce exposure during price rebounds.
US spot Bitcoin ETF demand also remains uneven. Funds received $197.4 million during July 6-10, followed by a $424.7 million outflow on July 13 and a $181.1 million inflow on July 14. July 15 showed a preliminary inflow of $26.9 million, although several fund readings were unavailable.
Among large-cap altcoins, Ethereum rose about 2.6% to $1,919, while BNB traded near $579, XRP around $1.11 and Solana near $77. TRON slipped about 0.4% to $0.324, reflecting selective rather than broad-based altcoin demand.
Markets now assign only a 10.2% probability of a quarter-point Fed increase at the July 28-29 meeting, though a September hike remains possible. US retail-sales data and renewed energy-price pressures are the next important macro risks.
Our advice: Investors should avoid chasing short-term breakouts. Staggered accumulation, limited leverage and disciplined position sizing remain preferable until Bitcoin holds above $65,500 and ETF demand becomes more consistent.

Wall St ends higher on cool inflation data, strong earnings
Wall Street stocks gained ground on Wednesday as softening inflation data and a robust beginning of second-quarter earnings season put investors in a buying mood. All three major stock indexes closed modestly higher despite weakness in semiconductors, with consumer-focused retail and travel/leisure clear outperformers.
PayPal surged 17.2% after sources told Reuters that Stripe and private equity firm Advent International have jointly offered to acquire it for $60.50 per share — representing around a 28% premium to its Tuesday close. A second day of solid bank earnings added momentum to an auspicious beginning to second-quarter reporting season. BlackRock and Morgan Stanley both beat quarterly profit expectations. BlackRock shares advanced 6.6%, while Morgan Stanley ended the session up 0.4%. “Everything looks great with the bank earnings,” said Mike Dickson, head of portfolio management at Horizon Investments in Charlotte, North Carolina. “I would not be at all surprised to see another bang-out quarter.”
