Bhagwant Mann's cousin Gian Singh Mann joined BJP in Chandigarh. He was welcomed into the party by Nayab Singh Saini and Sunil Jakhar.

Ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s cousin Gian Singh Mann formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chandigarh on Monday.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar were also present as the party welcomed Gian Singh Mann into its ranks.

All About Gian Singh Mann

Gian Singh Mann hails from Satauj village in Punjab’s Sangrur district. He is the son of the younger brother of Bhagwant Mann’s father.

Interestingly, the Punjab CM’s mother and that of his cousin are sisters.

Addressing the media after the event, Saini said, “We welcome Gian Singh Mann in the BJP."

While Jakhar stated that Gian Mann was settled abroad but returned to “work hard."

“Gian Singh Ji Mann, who hails from Sattoj village, is also Mann Sahib’s first cousin and maternal cousin. They live in the same household. He is also my friend. He has left his NRI status and come here to work hard with his own efforts. …He is also our friend and brother. I welcome him wholeheartedly…" Jakhar told reporters.

The Punjab assembly polls are due early next year.
