Brigadier (Retd) N.R. Babu, Director of the Sainik Welfare Department, has urged the Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday (May 13, 2026) to establish a Telangana Ex-Servicemen Corporation for the welfare of the retired armed forces personnel.

Brigadier Babu, who recently took charge as the Director of Sainik Welfare Department called on the Chief Minister. Mr. Reddy responded positively to the plea, directing his office to prepare a framework and study operational models from other States. He also suggested convening a meeting soon to finalise the proposal.

Brigadier Babu further highlighted the need to convene the Rajya Sainik Board meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister, and requested early issuance of orders for constituting the State Managing Committee under the Governor. The Chief Minister assured that necessary steps would be taken promptly.

The Chief Minister also invited detailed proposals to address additional issues concerning ex-servicemen, promising appropriate action after review. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families.

The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Ajit Reddy and Regional Sainik Welfare Officer Srinesh Kumar Nori.
