Mohammad Taufiq, who suffered serious leg injuries in the crash, has approached the court with a compromise plea.

The FIR, which initially named an unidentified driver, was later updated to include Shivam Mishra.
The Lamborghini crash case in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur has taken a new turn, with the complainant filing an affidavit stating that Shivam Mishra, son of a tobacco tycoon, was not driving the car at the time of the accident.
Earlier, the driver of the car had claimed that Shivam had seizure right before the accident.
“I was driving the car when the accident happened. Suddenly, he had a seizure. The car was moving slowly, and he fell on top of me. I got very scared. I was holding him with one hand. The car hit a three-wheeler, climbed onto the divider, and then stopped," the driver, Mohan, had told News18.
Shivam Mishra’s counsel, Narendra Kumar Yadav, said the driver has filed an affidavit taking responsibility for the accident.
“In this case, the accused has given an affidavit that I am the permanent driver of that vehicle and I committed this incident on the day of the incident. I remained in constant touch with the police," he said.
Now, giving a twist to the probe, the complainant, Mohammad Taufiq, who suffered serious leg injuries in the crash, has approached the court with a compromise plea. In an affidavit, he stated that the luxury car was being driven by Mohan Lal at the time of the incident.
However, the police have maintained that Mishra was behind the wheel during the accident. The probe earlier also established the same based on the CCTV footage.
A case was filed under the relevant sections of the BNS 2023, including sections 281, 125(a), 125(b), and 324(4), and the police continue to probe the case.
According to eyewitnesses, the car was moving at high speed, and bouncers accompanying those inside quickly pulled a person out of the vehicle right after the crash.
