GST rate cut: traders jubilant as sales surge

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Aditi Vijaya Lakshmi, welcomed the relaxation of GST slabs, and said that it would benefit common people who can now buy consumer goods, vehicles and other products at affordable rates.

She made the remarks while attending as chief guest the ‘Super GST-Super Savings programme,’ organised at the Vizianagaram Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.

Ms. Lakshmi said that the reduction in GST slabs would ensure economic activity across urban and rural areas, resulting in the overall development of the State.

To raise awareness on the new GST slabs exhibitions are being organised across multiple locations, shared GST Joint Commissioner Nirmala Jyothi.

The Chamber of Commerce president Kapuganti Srinivas said that traders are in high spirits as for the last one month there has been a significant improvement of sales across consumer goods, automobiles and other products. The Chamber of Commerce secretary, Boddu Srinivasa Rao, along with others attended the event.
