Gulveer Singh makes history, first Indian to medal in CWG 5000m sprint, adding bronze to his tally.

Hangzhou Asian Games bronze medallist Gulveer Singh on Saturday, August 1, became the first Indian athlete to win a medal in the 5000m sprint in the Commonwealth Games, after he won a bronze.

Gulveer, who bagged silver in the men’s 10,000m on Tuesday, added another medal to his tally by claiming bronze in the men’s 5000m final. He clocked 13:24.95 to finish third in the race.
