 HBO unveils lineup of 2026's most anticipated shows

Fans of the 'Harry Potter', 'Gilded Age', 'House of the Dragon', 'Lanterns' series have a lot to look forward to this year as HBO, on Sunday, dropped a new “Coming Soon” trailer teasing first-look footage and release dates for some of its biggest upcoming web series.

Harry Potter set for December release

The promo offers fans a glimpse at more than 20 titled slated to debut this year and even ones that are currently streaming online. Among the biggest highlights was fresh footage from the highly anticipated 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone' television adaptation. The teaser briefly shows the young wizard stepping onto the Quidditch field ahead of the show’s official premiere on December 25, 2026. The series had already generated enormous buzz earlier this year after its first teaser reportedly became the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history.

House of the Dragon gears up for June debut

Those waiting for another glimpse of 'House of the Dragon' Season 3, which is set to premiere on June 21, were treated to a glimpse of Rhaenyra Targaryen weeping as Daemon Targaryen tells her, 'This is the moment you become Queen'.

'The Gilded Age' set for Season 4

The beloved period drama 'The Gilded Age' was also confirmed to return for a fourth season in 2026. HBO had officially renewed the series in July 2025.

'Lanterns' set for August 16 release

The promo also spotlighted Lanterns, offering a new look at actor Kyle Chandler suited up in his superhero costume and taking flight.

The show is slated for an August 16 debut.

Upcoming June and July releases

Also featured in the trailer was 'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe', the upcoming spin-off centred on Stuart Bloom from 'The Big Bang Theory'. Actor Kevin Sussman reprises his role in the comedy, which is set to premiere on July 23.Additional projects previewed in the teaser include 'Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks', premiering in August, and 'Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness', arriving June 26.Alongside scripted dramas and comedies, HBO Max also showcased several documentaries and nonfiction projects, including a new documentary on 'Earth, Wind & Fire' and the return of Conan O'Brien in 'Conan O'Brien Must Go'.
