Key Facts
The nearly 1 hour and 50 minute interview began with Owens saying she won’t ask Biden to say anything bad about his father, noting that it would be “demonic,” and that everyone knows her opinions and political perspectives about the former president.
In the interview, Biden extensively and candidly talked about his history with drug addiction but claimed that he has been “verifiably” sober since 2019, and noted that he had been randomly drug tested for two years as part of his probation deal.
Biden said he had a history of relapses before finally getting sober, the worst of which occurred after the death of his brother Beau Biden.
On the laptop controversy that erupted months before the 2020 election, Biden described it as a hard drive of stolen and hacked material that was misrepresented.
While dismissing the significance of the laptop’s materials, Biden said he was prepared to take ownership of the fact that he was not a “good guy,” pointing to leaked photos of him “smoking crack in a motel room with a prostitute.”
What Did Biden Say About His Father?
Both Biden and Owens expressed frustration over what they described as “gaslighting” in the media and in politics. “It’s not left or right…You think I’ll defend the D.C. elite of the left, they crushed my dad, because he was never part of that club. He was never part of the Epstein class,” Biden said about his father and the former president. Continuing his attack on Democratic leadership, he added: “When they saw their chance, they did everything in their power to push him out. You know why? Because he was never part of that club. He was never part of the Epstein class. He lived in Delaware.”
What Did Biden Say About The Epstein Files?
On the Epstein files, Biden said, “you want to figure out why they don't want to release all the Epstein files? All you got to do is literally look at a picture of Trump standing on his stage at his inauguration and look behind him…it's like every single person,” implying that the president's backers are linked to the convicted sex offender. Owens quickly chimed in saying: “He's protecting his donors without question.”
What Did Biden Say About Trump And His Administration?
The former president’s son heavily criticized President Donald Trump and said, “The president of the United States of America has posted images of himself as a king, I think half a dozen times now…when are people going to wake up?” Biden also discussed Trump’s handling of the war in Gaza and said: “I think we all can agree is that we need to stop the wholesale murder of a population in Gaza… whatever you think about my father's policy as it relates [to Gaza]…He didn't greenlight to turn Gaza into a Trump golf course.” Biden then said everyone, including Owens, labeled him as “this emblematic emblem of corruption,” before comparing the government deals that have enriched the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and son-in-law, Jared Kushner. “Don Jr. got the single largest loan guarantee from the Department of Defense ever handed out of over $600 million for an energy company, a fusion energy company, of which he has zero experience.”
