A delegation of members of the Press Club Hyderabad met with Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharshan Reddy on Wednesday (July 15, 2026) and submitted a representation highlighting several concerns related to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The delegation stressed that the government consider issuing a Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), if not for all official purposes, at least for establishing eligibility for electoral enrolment. It also pointed out that many Booth Level Officers (BLOs) require more procedural clarity and training to effectively implement the revision process.
The CEO patiently heard the issues raised by the delegation and assured the members that all the suggestions and grievances would be examined and taken up for appropriate action at the earliest.
The delegation comprised MLC M. Kodandaram, senior journalists K. Ramachandra Murthy, Mallepalli Laxmaiah, Amar Devulapalli, A. Saye Sekhar, N.V. Hanumanth Rao, Vanam Jwala Narasimha Rao and G.K. Murthy. Chartered accountant K.D. Prasad and dentist Aitharaju Bharat Babu were also part of the delegation.
