Activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk on Monday announced that he would continue his indefinite hunger strike, which entered Day 23, saying he was moved by the peaceful conduct of protesting students.

In a handwritten note shared on X, Wangchuk said he would continue fasting until student leaders are allowed to meet parliamentarians at Sansad Bhavan or he is permitted to meet them in the hospital.

He urged the government and police to resolve the situation by allowing students to present their grievances before Parliament and expressed hope that accountability in the education system would be ensured.
