A day after the culmination of the T20 World Cup 2026, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the team of the tournament. Given that India emerged victorious in the competition, the ICC's team was guaranteed to have an Indian presence, and as happened, four Indians are featured in the XI. South Africa skipper Aiden Markram has been picked as the captain of the side.

Sanju Samson, who stood out for India at the most crucial juncture of the tournament, finished the campaign with 321 runs. He was named the player of the tournament for his brilliant performance with the bat. Samson is placed as an opener in the team selected by the ICC.

Ishan Kishan, who was also exceptional with the bat throughout the World Cup, gets his preferred no.3 spot in the XI released by the ICC. All-rounder Hardik Pandya is also a part of the team. Pandya took wickets from the new ball and also played some valuable cameos with the bat. That's not all; there cannot be a tournament XI without Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer emerged as the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets.

Besides Indians, there is Sahibzada Farhan from Pakistan. He amassed 383 runs in the tournament, which is the highest by a player in any edition of the T20 World Cup. Will jacks, who scored 226 runs and Adil Rashid, who picked 13 wickets, have been selected from England. Aiden Markram and Lungi Ngidi made it to the XI from South Africa. Blessing Muzarabani, who was exceptional for Zimbabwe, got a place in the XI too. From the West Indies, Jason Holder filled the lone entry. Moreover, USA's Shadley van Schalkwyk gets a well-deserved mention as the 12th man.
