Donald Trump BIG remark in Egypt

US President Donald Trump expressed optimism about the future of India-Pakistan relations during his remarks at the Gaza Peace Summit, emphasising hope for regional cooperation.

Speaking at the high-profile event, President Trump said, "I think that Pakistan and India are going to live very nicely together."

He further praised India's leadership, stating, "India is a great country with a very good friend of mine at the top, and he has done a fantastic job." Trump's remarks highlighted both his personal rapport with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As reported by the Asian News International, Trump's comments came after he claimed on Air Force One the day before that he had used tariffs as a means of resolving a number of foreign disputes, including those between India and Pakistan.

He said, "I settled a few of the wars just based on tariffs. For example, between India and Pakistan, I said, if you guys want to fight a war and you have nuclear weapons. I am going to put big tariffs on you both, like 100 per cent, 150 per cent, and 200 per cent..."

In the background, these comments were made referring to tensions between the two countries earlier this year.

On April 22, terrorists supported by Pakistan killed 26 tourists in the Pahalgam terror attack, including 25 Indians and one Nepalese.

On May 7, the Indian Armed Forces responded by launching Operation Sindoor, which involved precise strikes against Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). India also attacked Pakistan's airbases and repulsed further escalation from Pakistan.

Gaza Peace Summit

The Gaza Peace Summit, officially known as the Sharm El Sheikh Summit, was held on Monday (October 13, 2025), in Egypt to pursue a significant diplomatic attempt to end the two-year Gaza war, which began in October 2023.

The conference, co-chaired by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, brought together delegates from over 30 countries but excluded Israel and Hamas from direct participation.
