IPS Officer Puran Kumar Spoke To DGP Shatrujeet Kapur In His Last Moments, Reveals Probe

The police, during their investigation, found that Puran Kumar spoke with DGP Shatrujeet around two-three hours before his death.

Amid the ongoing probe into the suicide case of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, the police investigation revealed that Kumar spoke to DGP Shatrujeet Kapur in his last moments. Notably, DGP Shatrujeet Kapur has been named in the FIR related to the suicide of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar.

According to sources, police revealed that Kumar, before ending his life, made a few calls. Notably, the police, during their investigation, found that Puran Kumar spoke with DGP Shatrujeet around two-three hours before his death.

Meanwhile, the police is also trying to probe what the two officers talked about. The call records of Puran Kumar will be obtained in order to track what transpired in his last moments.

Others among his call receivers were his lawyer and his wife IAS officer Amneet P Kumar, sources added.

IPS Puran Kumar’s Suicide Case: What happened?

Kumar reportedly died by suicide at his home in Chandigarh and left a suicide note. In a ‘final note’, the senior officer accused eight top police officials, including Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur, of subjecting him to “blatant caste-based discrimination, deliberate mental harassment, public humiliation, and other forms of abuse".

Puran Kumar’s wife, IAS officer Anmeet P Kumar, has demanded the arrest of former Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarniya, whose names appeared in her late husband’s suicide note.

Meanwhile, DGP Shatrujeet Kapur was sent on ‘forced’ leave on Tuesday. The additional charge of the post was assigned to senior IPS officer OP Singh.
