A shocking kidnapping and assault case has come to light in Bengaluru, where Kannada filmmaker Anish was allegedly lured on the pretext of selling his car and later attacked over a financial dispute. Police have arrested 11 people in connection with the case, including actress and social media influencer Aishwarya, popularly known as Ash Melo.
How the incident unfolded
Anish, who runs a modelling and casting agency and was directing the film Jeevanada Bhashe, had travelled from Mumbai to Bengaluru on February 9 after being informed that a buyer was interested in purchasing his Honda CRV.
According to the police, he was taken to a house on the outskirts of the city instead of meeting a genuine buyer. There, a group allegedly led by the main accused, Ashirwad, is said to have assaulted him with sticks. Investigators believe the attack was linked to an ongoing financial dispute involving a loan of around Rs 2.5 lakh and disagreements over an investment of Rs 5 to 6 lakh in the film.
Police sources say Anish was forced to withdraw earlier complaints related to the money matter. He was also allegedly robbed of gold ornaments and Rs 30,000 in cash. The complaint states that a 22-gram gold bracelet, a gold chain, and a ring were taken from him. The accused are also said to have withdrawn Rs 5,500 using his ATM card and demanded Rs 5 lakh.
During the assault, one of the accused allegedly punched Anish in the face, causing heavy bleeding from his nose. He was later admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where he is currently recovering from multiple injuries.
Role of Aishwarya aka Ash Melo
Aishwarya Ash Melo came under the scanner after it was revealed that she had introduced Anish to a man named Shahid on February 8, claiming he was interested in buying the car. Police are investigating her exact role in the case and whether she was aware of the alleged plan.
Aishwarya is a known face in the Kannada entertainment industry and has appeared in several South Indian films. She had earlier made headlines for walking out of the reality show Halli Power shortly after joining it. She is also expected to appear in upcoming films like Dwamsa and Bhaira.
About the victim
Anish, originally from Tamil Nadu, operates Anish Creations Modelling and Casting Agency. He has worked on casting for short films and music albums and was actively directing Jeevanada Bhashe at the time of the incident. He has not yet released an official statement about the attack.
Investigation continues
All 11 accused are currently in police custody. Officials are working to piece together the full sequence of events and determine the role of each person involved. More details are expected as the investigation progresses.
The case has raised serious concerns within the local film industry, especially regarding financial disputes and personal safety. For now, the focus remains on Anish’s recovery and the legal process ahead.
