The long-standing leadership uncertainty within Karnataka’s ruling administration appears to be reaching a definitive conclusion following a pivotal meeting in the national capital.

Minister Satish Jarkiholi, accompanied by former minister KN Rajanna, met with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi to brief him on the prevailing confusion and several critical issues impacting the state unit.

Speaking to the press after the high-level deliberations, Jarkiholi confirmed that the party’s central leadership has finalised its stance on the internal friction that has dominated the state’s political discourse for months.

During the interaction, Jarkiholi emphasised the urgency of the situation, stating that the local leadership had clearly communicated the need for a swift resolution.

“We brought the developments in the state to his notice and requested that the confusion be resolved at the earliest," Jarkiholi said. He revealed that the AICC President offered specific suggestions and firm assurances that the matter would be addressed without further delay, marking a shift in the central leadership’s tone.

Highlighting the weight of the conversation, Jarkiholi noted, “For the first time, he has said that we have come to a conclusion."

The minister further stressed that the entire party and its grassroots workers are currently awaiting clarity on the issue to ensure organisational stability.

The news of the High Command’s “conclusion" was met with a positive response from Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru. Speaking to reporters at the Karnataka State Higher Education Council, the DCM expressed his relief regarding the progress made in New Delhi.

“I am happy about AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge’s assurance to Satish Jarkiholi on resolving leadership issue in Karnataka," Shivakumar stated, suggesting a readiness to move forward under the party’s new directive.

Despite the sense of resolution, the political atmosphere remains sensitive to ongoing internal communications. When questioned about the Chief Minister’s recent article and a series of high-profile tweets that have fuelled further speculation, Shivakumar remained tight-lipped.

“I don’t have any information on that," he remarked, choosing to focus on the central leadership’s upcoming formal announcement.

As the state government awaits the official implementation of the High Command’s decision, the focus shifts to how this “conclusion" will reshape the power dynamics within the Karnataka Congress
