Parliament Monsoon Session 2026 Day 5 Live Updates: The monsoon session of Parliament found itself surrounded by chaos amid calls for a discussion on the paper leak controversy linked to the May 3 National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) and demands seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

On Thursday, July 23, both demands made by the opposition INDIA bloc took centre stage in both Houses as the monsoon session of Parliament entered Day 4. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha saw repeated adjournments amid continued opposition sloganeering and were adjourned for the day without any transaction of business.

The opposition has also been seeking a discussion on police action against protesting students during July 20 ‘Sansad Chalo’ march called by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

‘Oppn Trying To Run Away From Discussion…’

On Thursday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the opposition of trying to “run away” from discussions on the NEET-UG paper leak by “attaching pre-conditions and excuses”.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Rijiju said: “Request opposition with folded hands to have discussion on NEET paper leak; by attaching pre-conditions and excuses, opposition is running away from NEET paper leak debate.”
