Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set for a high-octane Sunday schedule with back-to-back engagements across Karnataka and Telangana, ranging from spiritual and social initiatives to mega infrastructure launches and a major political rally.
The day-long visit will see the Prime Minister participate in the 45th anniversary celebrations of The Art of Living in Bengaluru before heading to Hyderabad to unveil and lay the foundation stone for projects worth nearly Rs 9,400 crore and address a BJP public meeting.
According to the BJP schedule, PM Modi will begin the day with a public meeting in Bengaluru at 9.45 am, followed by the inauguration of the Dhyan Mandir and launch of various initiatives at 11 am.
He will later travel to Hyderabad for development project events at 3.30 pm, inaugurate Sindhu Hospital at 4.15 pm, and conclude the day with a BJP public meeting at 6.30 pm.
ART OF LIVING CELEBRATIONS IN BENGALURU
Ahead of the visit, PM Modi shared details of his engagements in a post on X, saying he would attend the programme marking the 45th anniversary celebrations of The Art of Living and praised the organisation’s contribution to society across sectors.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi will participate in the celebrations and also mark the 70th birthday celebrations of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Founded in 1981, The Art of Living has expanded into a global volunteer-driven humanitarian and educational organisation operating in 182 countries.
During the Bengaluru programme, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the newly constructed Dhyan Mandir at the Art of Living International Centre.
The meditation hall has been envisioned as a dedicated space for inner peace and holistic well-being.
He will also launch nationwide service initiatives focused on mental well-being, rural development, environmental conservation and social transformation.
RS 9,400 CRORE DEVELOPMENT PUSH IN TELANGANA
After Bengaluru, PM Modi will head to Hyderabad, where he is scheduled to lay foundation stones, inaugurate and dedicate multiple development projects to the nation.
The projects span sectors including highways, logistics, textiles, railways and energy infrastructure.
One of the major announcements includes the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, a project worth over Rs 3,175 crore.
The corridor is expected to reduce travel time by nearly 90 minutes and improve connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka while aiding industrial development in both states.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district under the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor.
Spread across 3,245 acres and being developed at a cost of over Rs 2,350 crore, the industrial township is expected to attract investments nearing Rs 10,000 crore and create large-scale employment opportunities.
PM MITRA PARK, RAILWAY PROJECTS TO GET BOOST
Another key project on PM Modi’s agenda is the inauguration of the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park.
Developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 1,700 crore, it is being projected as India’s first fully functional PM MITRA Park under the Centre’s “5F" vision, Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate key railway infrastructure projects worth around Rs 1,535 crore, including multiple sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking project covering 118 km.
The project is expected to enhance line capacity on the busy Grand Trunk corridor, reduce congestion and improve freight movement.
Additionally, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass will be dedicated to the nation to improve operational efficiency and reduce delays by facilitating simultaneous train movements toward Hyderabad, Balharshah and Vijayawada.
PM Modi will also dedicate Indian Oil’s Malkapur Terminal Project in Hyderabad, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 600 crore, to strengthen petroleum product handling capacity in the region.
SINDHU HOSPITAL TO BE DEDICATED TO NATION
In a significant healthcare-related event, the Prime Minister will dedicate Sindhu Hospital to the nation.
The state-of-the-art cancer-focused multi-speciality institution in Hyderabad has been developed as a not-for-profit healthcare facility.
Spread across 2.1 million square feet with 18 floors, the hospital houses 1,500 beds, more than 150 consultation rooms and 29 advanced operating theatres.
The facility will provide cancer treatment, bone marrow transplants, critical care and services across more than 33 super specialities.
BJP LOOKS TO BUILD POLITICAL MOMENTUM IN TELANGANA
The final leg of PM Modi’s visit will be a BJP public meeting in Hyderabad, which party leaders see as politically significant ahead of future electoral battles in Telangana.
In his X post, PM Modi targeted both the previous BRS government and the ruling Congress, saying Telangana was looking toward the BJP.
According to PTI, the rally will be PM Modi’s first public meeting in Telangana after his 2024 re-election and after the BJP’s recent assembly election victories in West Bengal and Assam.
Elaborate security and traffic arrangements have also been put in place, with around 2,000 police personnel and more than 600 traffic police deployed for the event.
