PM Modi UAE Visit LIVE Updates: PM Modi Leaves For UAE, Europe On Key 5-Nation Visit

PM Modi departs from Delhi as he embarks on a 5-nation visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy. On the first leg of his visit, the PM will reach the UAE today, where he will meet President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two leaders will exchange views on bilateral issues, in particular energy cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Ahead of PM Modi’s visit to the UAE, Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy said India and the UAE are aiming to take bilateral trade to $200 billion after already surpassing the $100-billion mark under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). She said both countries continue to unlock new areas of cooperation in technology, AI, quantum computing, supercomputing and infrastructure, including the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).

“Every time you feel you have reached a pinnacle, you discover there are more mountain tops to reach,” she said, adding that India and the UAE continue to deepen their partnership as “friends and partners.”

Ahead of PM Modi’s visit to the UAE, Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy said the country was “very much looking forward” to welcoming him. Calling PM Modi a “key figure of friendship” and “a true treasure to the leadership and to the people of UAE”, she said his visit reflects the continued close relationship between the two countries.

She also highlighted the frequent meetings between PM Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, noting that the leadership of both nations remains closely engaged.

Ahead of PM Modi’s visit to the UAE, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy highlighted the importance of technology and AI in driving economic growth and stressed deeper cooperation with India in emerging sectors.

“Science and technology is going to be, as they say, the name of the game moving forward,” she said, adding that AI has become a “strong cornerstone” for both countries. She said India and the UAE are exploring joint projects in areas such as supercomputing and quantum technology, adding that India has the “capability”, “technical prowess”, “ambition and vision” needed for stronger collaboration.
