After several rounds of discussions with the Centre, Pradhan resigned on Saturday, following which the CJP called off its agitation.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Sunday assumed charge of the Ministry of Education, a day after Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down from the post amid student protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and demonstrations across the country.

The Jantar Mantar protest witnessed participation from thousands of students and young supporters, who sought accountability over the alleged paper leak and demanded Dharmendra Pradhan’s removal as Education Minister.

After several rounds of discussions with the Centre, Pradhan resigned on Saturday, following which the CJP called off its agitation, stating that it was withdrawing the protest “in good faith" while expecting the commitments made during the talks to be fulfilled.
