A day after the bomb-like device containing low-grade explosive was found on the premises of a private hospital in Hadapsar in Maharashtra’s Pune district, CCTV footage has surfaced capturing the suspect.
Pune police on Thursday (May 14, 2026) said that the CCTV footage shows the suspect arriving on a moped at the hospital before planting the device. “We have been scrutinising the footage to identify and trace the suspect. All the teams from the local police station, crime branch, and ATS are jointly doing the investigation,” said the senior police officer.
On Wednesday (May 13), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) diffused the device taken to the open ground from the premises of the hospital around 8 p.m.. The device was recovered from the men’s washroom close to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the hospital.
According to primary information, the object allegedly had a seven-hour timer attached. “BDDS did their job, and now we are investigating from angles. So far, we have not nabbed anyone. However, the case is filed,” said Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar.
