Rahul Gandhi Congress, Sonam Wangchuk Protest News Today Live: The protest over the paper leak in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 saw Congress bigwigs, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, leading the party’s contingent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s doorstep at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi.

Accompanying the Congress MPs were several other top opposition leaders, including Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Meanwhile, thousands of people regrouped at Jantar Mantar –– the main protest site of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) –– in the heart of Delhi on Tuesday. This followed a massive students’ protest on Monday that saw the police and security forces attempting to disperse the throngs.

Joined by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, the protests unfolded in late June to seek government accountability over the paper leak and demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

While on an indefinite hunger strike, Wangchuk was removed by the Delhi Police from the protest site last week and later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital. On Tuesday, he was discharged from the government hospital and shifted to a private facility, Medanta, in Gurugram in accordance with a Delhi High Court order.

Dharmendra Pradhan Reacts

Reacting to the protest of INDIA bloc leaders at the doorstep of PM Modi, Pradhan accused LoP in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and his fellow party leaders of “exploiting students as political tools“.

In a post on ‘X’, the minister wrote: “LoP Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party continue to shamelessly exploit students as political tools to manufacture disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament”.

“For Rahul Gandhi, this is not about students. This is about manufacturing confrontation after every genuine avenue for discussion has been opened,” he added.
