Long-term growth narrative and positive sentiments around policies continues to keep investors' sentiment buoyant about India: PL Capital Private Wealth
Inderbir Singh Jolly, CEO, PL Capital Private Wealth
According to PL Capital Private Wealth, Indian equity markets continue to demonstrate resilience despite intermittent bouts of volatility, supported by healthy corporate performance, strong domestic macroeconomic fundamentals, and the return of foreign institutional investor (FII) inflows.
PL Capital Private Wealth notes that recent macroeconomic indicators continue to reinforce India’s long-term growth story. The benchmark indices remain near their all-time highs, with the Sensex hovering around 78.1K and the Nifty trading above 24.3K, as investors closely track the Q1FY27 earnings season and other key market developments. On other hand, retail inflation eased to 4.38% in June, remaining well within the Reserve Bank of India’s comfort band, while policy stability has further strengthened investor confidence. At the same time, foreign institutional investors have returned as net buyers in recent months, providing additional support to market sentiment.
Against this backdrop, PL Capital Private Wealth believes investors should remain focused on disciplined investing and strategic asset allocation rather than reacting to short-term market volatility.
The firm believes India’s favourable demographics, sustained infrastructure investments, manufacturing-led expansion, rapid digital transformation, and healthy corporate profitability will continue to provide a strong foundation for long-term wealth creation. While valuations in certain pockets of the market have turned expensive, periods of consolidation should be viewed as opportunities to build quality portfolios with a long-term perspective.
PL Capital Private Wealth recommends maintaining a well-diversified portfolio with an appropriate allocation across large-cap equities, selective mid-cap stocks, fixed-income instruments, and gold. It believes that a disciplined investment approach, coupled with periodic portfolio rebalancing, remains one of the most effective strategies to navigate market volatility while harnessing the power of long-term compounding.
Commenting on the market outlook, Inderbir Singh Jolly, CEO, PL Capital Private Wealth, said “The Indian markets continue to have good underlying fundamentals, visibility on earnings and strong economic growth. Although one cannot deny that there is going to be volatility due to developments at the international level, the investment decision should not be made based on volatility in the market. Rather, emphasis should be laid on having quality companies with strong fundamentals, strong bottom line growth and good governance. We feel that through an effective asset allocation program with investments in equity, debt and gold, the investors will be able to ride the volatility in the markets while benefiting from the growth in India.”

USDINR CMP- 96.18 (spot) Indian Rupee recovered today on softening of the US Dollar and easing US Treasury yields. However, weak domestic markets and surge in crude oil prices capped sharp gains. Dollar strengthened on escalating US-Iran conflict as the US struck Iran for the 10th consecutive day.
We expect the Rupee to trade with a negative bias on escalating conflict between US and Iran. US struck Iran for the 10the consecutive day while Iran struck US air bases in the Gulf. Elevated crude oil prices too weighed on the Rupee. However, diplomatic talks between the two nations may prevent sharp fall in the Rupee. Any intervention by the RBI may also support the Rupee at lower levels. USDINR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 95.90 to Rs 96.50.

Imposing legacy broadcasting rules on application-based TV services would stifle innovative digital ecosystem by overregulation: IAMAI
The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has urged the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) not to recommend imposition of any licensing or authorisation framework on Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) and Application-Based Linear Television Distribution (ALTD) Services.
In its submissions to TRAI on the ‘Formulation of a Regulatory Framework for ALTD Services (Including FAST Services)’ the Association underlined that both these services are App-based Internet services, and extending broadcasting regulations to the FAST and ALTD services would run contrary to the spirit of the government’s own laws governing the digital content ecosystem. IAMAI pointed out that many online content providers offering FAST channels operate across multiple jurisdictions through standardised products and content pipelines. Introducing a separate India-specific licensing requirement could create avoidable regulatory complexity and compliance costs without proportionate consumer benefit. This may affect investment, innovation and consumer access to a diverse range of content.
The ALTD and FAST services operate exclusively at the application layer over the open internet. They merely utilise the underlying network layer to deliver content to consumers. These are fundamentally distinct from traditional Distribution Platform Operators (DPOs), which own and manage last-mile closed-network infrastructure.

Precious Metals Bounce Back as Iran Ceasefire Hopes Rise, But Fed Rate Fears Loom: Renisha Chainani, head of research at Augmont
Price Movement – Gold has bounced back from its key support levels near $3960, and Silver has recovered from $55, after an Iranian official reportedly received a proposal for a 10-day ceasefire. The continuing US-Iran standoff has kept investors worried about energy-driven inflation and the possibility of further rate hikes. Markets are now pricing in an 83% chance of a US rate hike in December, up sharply from 73% just a week earlier, based on the CME FedWatch tool.
· Geopolitical Tensions – Despite the Houthis announcing fresh military action, both Tehran and Washington appear keen to restart talks and stop the escalating attacks that have nearly destroyed a fragile interim agreement reached last month. A senior Iranian official told Reuters on Monday that mediators had proposed a 10-day ceasefire, aimed at rescuing the interim deal and eventually leading to a lasting peace agreement.
· Macro-Economic Signals – Gold remains under short-term pressure from expectations of Fed tightening and a strong dollar. However, investor positioning in gold looks relatively light after months of ETF outflows, meaning further price drops may be limited. Strong physical demand, especially from China, along with continued central bank buying, is providing solid support to the gold market.
Technical Triggers
· If Gold fails to hold above $4,000 (₹1,38,000). But if it manages to stay above $4,200, a fresh rally could take it toward $4,500 (~₹1,55,000).
· For Silver, a strong move above $63 (₹2,51,000–2,55,000). On the other hand, a fall below $55 (₹2,14,000) may drag it down to $50 (₹2,00,000)

“It’s a good week for India’s asset management industry. What began with the AMC listings of 2017–18 continued this week — India’s largest mutual fund houses, managing more than half of the industry’s ₹82 lakh crore AUM, are now all listed on the public markets. The institutions that manage India’s public equity savings are today owned, scrutinized and priced by India’s savers themselves. First we institutionalized our savings; now the institutions themselves have become investable. Asset Management has emerged as one of the more popular sectors in BFSI on the back of a strong economic model, growth and significant TAM.”

Daily Commodities Commentary | Manav Modi, Commodities Analyst, Motilal Oswal Financial services Ltd
Gold continue to trade around $4000, as on one hand, U.S. dollar strengthened amid escalating geopolitical tensions in Middle East while, market participants are ambiguous regarding interest rate trajectory and US economic data. Conflict between U.S. and Iran intensified after US carried out a tenth consecutive day of strikes, while President Trump vowed retaliation following the deaths of three U.S. service members in Iranian attacks. Iran also declared it had suspended its commitments under interim peace agreement, raising fears of a prolonged conflict and renewed disruptions in Strait of Hormuz.
Escalation pushed crude oil prices higher, reviving concerns that elevated energy costs could keep inflation above the Federal Reserve’s target and reinforce expectations of higher interest rates for longer. Softer U.S. CPI and PPI data last week reduced the probability of a July Fed rate hike to around 16%, policymakers have maintained that the battle against inflation is not over, with higher oil prices posing renewed upside risks to inflation.
With the Federal Reserve now in its pre-meeting blackout period and a light U.S. economic calendar this week, investors will shift their focus to geopolitical developments and the ECB’s policy decision for further direction on global monetary policy and precious metals.

SBI Funds is likely to deliver around 15%-20% listing gains based on current GMP. Looking at the subscription numbers, around 2 out of every 5 retail applicants may receive an allotment. Rather than focusing only on listing gains, the IPO offers better long-term value for investors with a 2-3 year investment horizon. The business is well placed to benefit from India’s gradual shift of household savings towards financial assets, along with the increasing penetration of SIPs across smaller cities and towns.

Market analysis by Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com
Bitcoin traded near $65,200 on Tuesday, up about 1.1% over 24 hours, as five consecutive sessions of US spot Bitcoin ETF inflows supported the recovery from June’s lows. The move remains a consolidation rather than a confirmed breakout. Immediate support lies around $64,500-$65,000, followed by $63,700-$64,000. Resistance is near $65,700. If Bitcoin breaks above this level, the next technical hurdle is around $67,000. On-chain data also shows the short-term holder cost basis near $69,000, making it a more significant resistance level.
The market structure is stabilising, but remains fragile. Spot volumes remain subdued even as futures and options open interest expands. Perpetual futures buying has improved. Demand for downside protection has also eased. However, the growing share of short-term, price-sensitive investors leaves Bitcoin vulnerable to sharper price swings. The contraction in monthly realised capital also indicates that fresh spot demand remains cautious.
ETF flows have become more supportive. After recording a $424.7 million outflow on July 13, US spot Bitcoin ETFs rebounded with $181.1 million in inflows on July 14. They attracted a further $107.7 million on July 15, $79.1 million on July 16, $132.3 million on July 17, and $110.3 million on July 20. Those five positive sessions total $610.5 million, leaving the period since July 13 modestly positive by $185.8 million.
Our advice: Investors should avoid chasing the move above $65,000. Staggered accumulation and disciplined position sizing remain preferable until Bitcoin clears $65,700 with stronger spot volume and continued ETF demand.

Pre- market analysis by Gaurav Udani, Founder - Thincredbu Securities Pvt. Ltd.
“Nifty is expected to open lower around 24,140, down nearly 80 points, indicating a cautious start as markets react to mixed global cues.
The index continues to trade within a defined range, making today’s session important from a technical perspective. 24,000–24,050 remains the immediate support zone, while 24,300–24,400 will act as the key resistance range.
With the earnings season in full swing, stock-specific action is likely to remain high, while global developments will continue to influence overall market sentiment.
Traders should avoid aggressive positions at the open and watch how Nifty behaves around the key support levels. Until the index delivers a decisive breakout above resistance or below support, a disciplined, level-based approach remains the preferred strategy.”

Rupee Set for Weak Start as Oil Rally Boosts Dollar Demand
The Indian rupee is expected to come under pressure at Tuesday’s open, with high crude prices and a bearish turn in derivative market positioning supporting demand for the dollar.
The rupee is expected to open in the 96.50 to 96.55 range, traders said, after settling at 96.4450 on Monday.
The Indian currency slipped past 96.50 in the previous session for the first time in two months and would likely have weakened further had it not been for intervention by the Reserve Bank of India, traders said.
The rupee’s outlook has deteriorated in recent weeks, coinciding with a rally in oil prices amid renewed tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Brent crude rose above $91 a barrel on Monday before pulling back to around $88.50.

South Korean shares rally after two-day rout, won eases from 10-week high
South Korean shares rebounded on Tuesday after a two-day rout, helped by gains in chip stocks, while the won eased from a 10-week high against the dollar.
The benchmark KOSPI was up 158.82 points, or 2.44%, at 6,675.09 as of 0129 GMT after losing 10.5% in the prior two sessions. It has shed over a quarter of its value since its record close on June 22.
“The KOSPI’s correction was mainly led by foreign equity investors’ selloff in terms of rebalancing and profit-taking,” Citi analysts said in a note.

Markets End Lower as Banking Blues Offset Earnings Beat
Markets closed lower on Monday as disappointing net interest margins from a key private-sector lender and renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East kept investors cautious throughout the session, even as public-sector banks and pharma stocks provided some support.
The Nifty 50 settled at 24,238.50, down 95 points or 0.39 per cent, after opening 144 points lower. The Sensex closed at 77,708, shedding 443 points. ICICI Bank beat estimates by 12 per cent and gained nearly 3 per cent. Axis Bank posted a profit beat but fell sharply. HDFC Bank came in broadly in line, but its net interest margin slipped to a record low amid deposit competition, which was enough for the market to sell it. The private bank index fell 2.3 per cent. The broader read is that the Street had spent two weeks buying ahead of results. Once the numbers confirmed what was already priced in, sellers arrived.
